Calling all LLBean Katahdin Iron Works Boots owners - Page 49

I think the solution might be to order a pair of Chippewa GQs from Zappos, they are identical in size to the Katahdins right?

I've never had any shoe / boot give length-wise, only in width.

Just got my pair in today. I should've half sized down; they're are a tad long. Definitely darker than I originally thought, but I can see that they will wear beautifully. Going to exchange for a smaller size. 10D to 9.5D.

I am probably exchanging from 9.5 to 9 so if you are in Chicago and want to grab mine, you are welcome to...

One more thought: Why would anyone buy the same boot from J Crew for $100 more and a warranty that isn't even a fraction as good as LL Bean's? I just can;t wrap my mind around that.
Because the color is a lot more attractive? $100 isn't much, the shoes were less than $300 with tax. We're not talking about expensive shoes here. As far as warranty, I'm not concerned as I'm using these shoes as beaters. Seems like the shoes are really popular as you can no longer order them from J. Crew's site. I hope I got the size right as I can't exchange them for another size now. frown.gif

Haha, it would be great to at least try on a 9.5 but I'm all the way in Southern California. Hopefully the new sizes work out for the both of us. I wish there was a store close to me!

depends, the first ones aren't as chunky, but if you want to use them as winter boots and you live somewhere like montreal, perhaps you'd want the second

I tried them both last winter and they are identical in size, the Kathadins feels a bit looser in the toe box but the size/length is the same with GQ if you put them side by side

I think they sold out. I went by J. Crew again today to order a pair of Red Wing's. While searching on their computer, the 2 Chippewa styles that were up several days ago are no longer available.

Wow, ya you're right. They're not on the website anymore. I could have sworn that just a week ago they had many sizes left.

They took them off cuz they're doing a 30% off sitewide sale. So they take off all of their collaboration/special items so you can't use the 30% off on them.
