why not wait until you have the right stuff?

Its not like there is anything wrong with wearing the boots as they came.

How do these look with slim jeans? I'm looking for a fairly tough boot that would go well with jeans that are on the slimmer side

They look best with slim jeans actually.

+1

I wore them once with some old beat up bootcut jeans (to do some actual work mind you...these are very functional boots) and while I didn't really care at the time...I thought it looked horrible.

Better to mess up the crappy gap jeans than to worry about how my lower leg works while I am doing manual labor

I took my pair with me earlier this summer on a backpacking trip through Mexico. I wore the hi-top chucks I took on most days, but I'd wear the boots on rainy days.

To end the trip, I stayed a week with family, and wore them almost daily there. Hiking, spelunking, horseback riding, tending to livestock, etc. My cousins and uncles commented on how much they liked them, too.

I've been meaning to clean them and reapply Sno Seal, but I've been leaving them at my parents' house and the last time I went home I got them muddy.

I wore mine today for the first time. My feet felt great but my ankles were killing me! It doesn't help that I'm not used to wearing boots really. Sure hope they break in quickly!

Don't worry, the ankles break in pretty quickly. As for what kind of pants/denim to wear with them, anything works really. They looked good back then and nobody wore skinny jeans.

Keep wearing them and apply some Obenauf's and you'll be straight. I'm finding hard to wear anything else right now.

First post. Just got mine Monday and yes, the ankles are a bit snug out of the box. These boots are amazing though with a very solid construction...basically what everyone's been saying. If your on the fence about these...just do it. As far as sizing goes...I'm a 10 in Sperrys, Chucks, and Nike Frees, I'm a 9.5 in these and they fit perfect (true to width, too).

y'alls must have fat ankles.

my ankles are by no means small and with normal socks, tightening the laces almost fully closes the ankle over the tongue...if they stretched any more, they wouldn't be able to tie tight.
