April 77 would probably work for shorter stuff. Their stuff is unisex and in the peacoat thread from back in april/may there was a cropped peacoat that was discussed that might look normal on a person of your stature. I don't know how all the sizing and proportions work though.

I know you're not the first one to say that April 77 outerwear is unisex, but how do you know for sure?

people can tell that you're wearing a women's jacket by looking at button placement right? so if you dont want that then better off buying from japan

I would have just shrugged it off. Different strokes i guess.
Unless the clothing makes you look like a woman (ie girl jeans) whats the problem?

Yeah, I got a sized down Sterlingwear last winter and it's really great.

It's unfortunate that the different button placement on a women's jacket is one thing that every damn girl in the world will know and immediately point out. I got burned on a thrift store purchase years ago before I knew.

Apparently women's coats overlap the opposite way from men's, so it's immediately noticeable if you know that.

at least here in the USA, the button placements are on the other side of the coat. and i'm guessing any fashionable woman would immediately notice the difference. it's not even a style choice, it's just how clothes are made, so there was no excuse on my part.

My peacoat finally came. What a trying ordeal. The post lady tracked down where she misdelivered it to. The inapt coat fits great and trim. perfect for a smaller person. I don't know about for a really short person, but if you're very skinny, i'd try to get one once they start making more in the fall (assuming they do).

My brother has a really cool Soviet-issued Navy peacoat. I'm assuming they made them in smaller sizes and the cut of the coat is really awesome.

It used to be that bespoke suits for left-handed people were made with the reverse button placement, now commonly seen as the woman's placement.

I suppose better custom makers still do it today.

why has no one come up with this?
go ahead and buy the ladies size.
then have a tailor make buttonholes on the other side.
