Actually just ordered a charcoal one from East Dane (they are doing 25% off, ends tonight). Felt charcoal was more versatile and will show lint/dust less than the navy. Plus it's 100% wool :)

Added an extra warmth quilted lining option for peacoats: Cotton flannel with a layer of wool flannel sandwiched between the shell and the lining.

Weight maths: 16 Oz Shell, 6 Oz Lining, 12 Oz Middle layer: Total 34 Oz.

Still cold?  We can make it 56 too!

Do you have any pics of this peacoat unbuttoned, with the collar up? I'm thinking about purchasing this peacoat and wanted to see how it looked unbuttoned.

Should I try another brand? Sizing up would be 3" larger and probably too big.

J.Crew offers a "tall" version. Which has 1.2" Longer Arms & 1.5" longer length. Thoughts?

As I understand it, from the recent catalog, this is supposed to fit longer than the traditional pea coat. This looks about right, given that. I don't think the sleeves are too short. Is this your usual outerwear size in J. Crew?

& by the way, I'm pretty intrigued by this, but I'd get it in the "dried olive". I like that it's a bit different from the usual thing.

How does my Classic Sterlingwear coat fit? I'm concerned it might be too tight since the buttons are pullling.

amhk1024 no pics buttoned up sorry. I returned the coat!
Robert: Yes its longer than a traditional peacoat by about 2-3". I ended up returning it and going with a M-Tall. The tall was too long in the arms so its back to square one.

I spotted this Peacoat for sale as a "Korean War" coat, but the tags (according to Peacoats guide) is 1967. Is a 1967 peacoat worth as much as a 50s eacoat? The price tag is about 250.

It has gotten down in the 30s here at night, but warmed to the low 50s today (Middle Tennessee). Not quite there for me. But I have a bunch of high end leather jackets that need the exercise.

Anyone pulled the trigger on the Luxire peacoat? I am Tempted to give them some business but would look to know quality of fabric and craftsmanship before I do.

Chrispy650, have you received the coat yet? What size did you get and what are your thoughts on the coat? Does the tag say 100% wool or is it 80/20 like the navy and black versions?

Hey SF new member but been lurking for awhile. I received my jcrew dock peacoat in xs today and I love the fit but found it too long for me.

Few post back someone i saw the the billy reid pc and the length seems good for me (5'7 150lbs 36-38 chest), I dont mind biting the bullet for the billyreid pc but are there alternatives pc that are shorter?
