I wouldn't, but it's your money. They don't look very good, and they probably fit like sacks. Where's the middle button on the second coat?

What size are you wearing? And what is your general build / height / weight? Looking to buy but dont want to wait forever if I end up with a wrong size...

This coat is dope.. sucks that I stumbled upon it after I purchased the peacoat I'm wearing now.. the price isn't that bad either..

But, I'm currently rocking with a JCrew Bayswater with the Thinsulate.. got it around the 2012 holidays for a ridiculous price icon_gu_b_slayer[1].gif

Quick question... how is the fit on the J Crew Bays Water peacoat?

There's only a small and medium for sale now, and I'm a large. Will I be okay with a medium?

If you can try it on, do so.

I have a Medium, which was a little tight in the shoulders but loosened up dramatically.. I know your shoulders are wider than mine, so I would possibly say a Large for you. But everything else is perfect for me in the Medium (lol and I'm very picky). (sleeve length, chest, layering with the coat, front/back length are all on point)

Thanks a lot man. My shoulders are alittle wider than yours but if it loosens up then hopefully it won't be a problem.

Thanks again fam

Out of curiosity, how much did you pay for your J.Crew Bayswater Thinsulate peacoat?

Damn, son. Well done! I paid twice that. Canadians overpay for everything, and will likely politely say "sorry" while they're being overcharged/raped too. crackup[1].gif

It depends which year it was released. The latest FW 2012 version (with plain black "J. Crew" tag) is slimmer than the FW 2011.

I have a size SMALL of the the latest version w/ thinsulate and here are its measurements:

shoulder seam to shoulder seam: 18"

pit to pit: 20.5"

back base of collar to bottom hem: 30"

What's your chest, waist and height? I'm 6ft, 42 chest, 30 waist (athletic/muscular). I bought both a medium and a large. The medium looks perfect in the body, but the sleeves were about an inch and a half too short, so I let them out (I have long arms), and I'd probably pop the top button (if I ever use it).

The large has a bit more space in the chest, so if I wanted to close the top button or wear an unusual number of layer, I'd wear the L. The sleeves have a bit more sleeve length, but I still had to let them out.

On a side note, these are backordered until July through the BR website. You may be better off just waiting it out to see if any discounted ones pop up on Ebay in the coming months as the Skyfall craze dies down. You probably won't wear it in July anyway.

You may have to let out the sleeves, but you'll probably be ok in a medium. In my opinion, the Bayswater is very boxy. If you have a V-shaped body, the coat won't be very flattering. Sizing down is your best bet. I bought a small, but I returned it because it was too full in the torso (and the sleeves were too short). I wear a medium/large in the BR peacoat.

Are you sure it fits you perfectly?

My build is exact the same as you. I thought the small size chest meassure is 39", quite big though. Normally I would wear 36".

Also I used to have a Billy Reid "slim fit" shirt (it indicated so on the label), and it's still too baggy compared to other brands.
