As you mentioned, wearing more than a tee-shirt underneath would be more telling regarding the feel of the fit. From the pictures, I think it is a good fit. The length of the coat looks perfect. You want the coat to cover your "seat". Also, the back of the coat lies neat and trim. So often, people judge the fit from the front--that's only natural. But the more telling view is from the rear. Too short and too tight--which causes the back material to bunch up--looks clownish.
As for size and fit, I think you have a good coat. A trip to the tailor and to the dry cleaner, and this coat should really come to life.
