Moving up to their "Company News" page I find that this news brief was posted in May 2008. Site's been under construction for a long time, it seems.

Reality check aside, its end of October so I'd suggest anyone who's interested actually call their CS up and ask about it.

I'm torn whether this should ultimately go into the Official Peacoat Thread. :p

Yeah, I wasn't sure if I should put it there or start a new thread. Ultimately I figured this one just had a different focus then your typical fit + brand discussion that is the usual topic of that thread.

People size down on APCs because it's a slim cut that is a little vanity sized and they stretch a lot. Sizing down on a shirt that isn't originally cut that well is not going to make it fit really well tailored like BoO or some other brand. If people truly want a slim well tailored and flattering peacoat they probably should get it from a mid level or designer brand or look for places like h&m, topman, and uniqlo as they may have slightly more updated fit versions. Sterlingwear is a military coat meant to be somewhat roomy for layering for really cold days and wind at sea, and also be a bit roomy for a range of movement that you can still perform military or cleaning or what not in the coat. I'm not sure why people are trying to turn it into something slim. I went down this path before trying on both schott and sterlingwear at a local store back in florida and trying 34s, 36s and 38s and nothing gave me what i wanted
+1 I went to soho this weekend and checked out the Schotts peacoat vs the uniqlo one. I ended up getting the uniqlo because it just looks better on me. I am 6'3" 185 pounds and the Schotts peacoat makes me look deformed, the uniqlo fits perfect in a size medium, even the sleeves which is great for me because my arms are very long. Sure the Schotts was thicker and heavier but it was also way too boxy and I just hate the buttons. The uniqlo coat is lighter but feels great and will handle the cold just well.

Sadly no, it was the regular fit, I went to Iceberg Army/Navy surplus store and they did not have a big selection.

thats a 32r. its really hard to move with it. I meant i wanted a smaller collar. After thinking about it i think i want to stick with sterlingwear. im gonna try size 34l and hope theres more room

Don't encourage this type of behavior, western, Pa. I like the pieces he posted, but untucked shirt and tie (especially that long and sticking beyond the vest) should be left for when you finally get home and are ready to change. It looks confused in all other contexts.

^Depends on the coat--the brand, the style, etc.

I don't care what the style is, but for a coat, classic peacoat specifically, if the sleeves are extending down to your fingertips, it's too ******* long.

After speaking to them over the phone I just placed an order for a authentic 36L. The one in the picture is an authentic. They said it is the warmest coat.
