Got my Authentic 36XL in the mail today, but it turned out to be a big disappointment. None of the buttons line up correctly, and the right front is longer than the left. I'm going to email them tomorrow, hopefully it's going to be a relatively pain-free return.

Sizing down two (38" chest, coat size 36) didn't work out at all for me (everything is too tight), but that's a different matter entirely.

My order came in one week, and I am in canada. Its tight in the shoulders, but good everywhere else including sleeves

I am usually an 18 inch s2s and have extremely boney shoulders so maybe thats why.

I am 6'3", 36chest. I got a 34XL.

Well over the course of a year I've gone from having a 33-34" chest to a 38-39" chest, and my 32L coat is too snug. I'm afraid I might be getting rid of it soon...

Sorry to post another "what size am I" but I've read the whole thread and I haven't been able to find a satisfactory answer to the question. I'm 6'1 and 165 pounds with a 36 inch chest, will a size 34L work for me? I already ordered it, but I'm feeling a bit nervous now.

Either a 34L or 36L should work.

Last winter, I was 6'1" and 210 lbs (195 right now), and was wearing a 42R (and usually a 42L suit jacket, but sometimes a R length, and sometimes a size 43 jacket). But I believe that the jacket lengths are graded, so that a 34R should be much shorter than a 42R. So the L is probably correct.

Since it's already ordered, just try it on when it arrives and then exchange as needed.

What is the neckline seam referred to on their website that tells how the body length is measured? Would someone mind posting a picture of the measurement?

i like Spurr quality but the design looks off with the extra set of buttons. i dont like epaulets on and the that thing around the cuff of the sleeve. but that is just me. i like a clean classic slim look of a peacoat.

the photo one looks to be pinned on the back of the coat to make it look slim. looks like one of those korean designer peacoats.

oh nice. then i would say take the varvatos. it is good quality. sometimes those photos ( by the korean designers show a good photo, but you dont know how it looks from up close on quality)

im only not liking that extra flap of cloth on the sides at the waist. i dont know what that deal is. but i would take the JV over the spurr in this case.

Neither.

JV is overdesigned and quality is questionable, probably made in china too. The spurr is way too much and not special in any way (generic), keep looking and don't rush a purchase like this.

Im leaning towards the JV one and its like $700 bucks less. My local Bloomingdales has both of them and they are going to be 30% OFF starting Wednesday.

If you get anything in a pea coat other than authentic military issue, you're, well, less of a man.
