Really, so much shitty news and horrible people on the planet, and nobody really gives a fuck. What is there to look forward to without willful ignorance?

What's wrong with the world, mama People livin' like they ain't got no mamas I think the whole world addicted to the drama Only attracted to things that'll bring you trauma Overseas, yeah, we try to stop terrorism But we still got terrorists here livin' In the USA, the big CIA The Bloods and The Crips and the KKK But if you only have love for your own race Then you only leave space to discriminate And to discriminate only generates hate And when you hate then you're bound to get irate, yeah Madness is what you demonstrate And that's exactly how anger works and operates Man, you gotta have love just to set it straight Take control of your mind and meditate Let your soul gravitate to the love, y'all, y'all People killin', people dyin' Children hurt and you hear them cryin' Can you practice what you preach And would you turn the other cheek Father, Father, Father help us Send some guidance from above 'Cause people got me, got me questionin' Where is the love (Love) Where is the love (The love) Where is the love (The love) Where is the love The love, the love It just ain't the same, always unchanged New days are strange, is the world insane If love and peace is so strong Why are there pieces of love that don't belong Nations droppin' bombs Chemical gasses fillin' lungs of little ones With ongoin' sufferin' as the youth die young So ask yourself is the lovin' really gone So I could ask myself really what is goin' wrong In this world that we livin' in people keep on givin' in Makin' wrong decisions, only visions of them dividends Not respectin' each other, deny thy brother A war is goin' on but the reason's undercover The truth is kept secret, it's swept under the rug If you never know truth then you never know love Where's the love, y'all, come on (I don't know) Where's the truth, y'all, come on (I don't know) Where's the love, y'all People killin', people dyin' Children hurt and you hear them cryin' Can you practice what you preach And would you turn the other cheek Father, Father, Father help us Send some guidance from above 'Cause people got me, got me questionin' Where is the love (Love) Where is the love (The love) Where is the love (The love) Where is the love (The love) Where is the love (The love) Where is the love, the love, the love? I feel the weight of the world on my shoulder As I'm gettin' older, y'all, people gets colder Most of us only care about money makin' Selfishness got us followin' our wrong direction Wrong information always shown by the media Negative images is the main criteria Infecting the young minds faster than bacteria Kids wanna act like what they see in the cinema Yo', whatever happened to the values of humanity Whatever happened to the fairness in equality Instead of spreading love we're spreading animosity Lack of understanding, leading lives away from unity That's the reason why sometimes I'm feelin' under That's the reason why sometimes I'm feelin' down There's no wonder why sometimes I'm feelin' under Gotta keep my faith alive till love is found Now ask yourself Where is the love? Where is the love? Where is the love? Where is the love? Father, Father, Father help us Send some guidance from above 'Cause people got me, got me questionin' Where is the love? Sing wit me y'all: One world, one world (We only got) One world, one world (That's all we got) One world, one world And something's wrong wit it (Yeah) Something's wrong wit it (Yeah) Something's wrong wit the wo-wo-world, yeah We only got (One world, one world) That's all we got (One world, one world)

There comes a time
When we head a certain call
When the world must come together as one
There are people dying
And it's time to lend a hand to life
The greatest gift of all
We can't go on
Pretneding day by day
That someone, somewhere will soon make a change
We are all a part of
God's great big family
And the truth, you know love is all we need
We are the world
We are the children
We are the ones who make a brighter day
So let's start giving
There's a choice we're making
We're saving our own lives
It's true we'll make a better day
Just you and me
Send them your heart
So they'll know that someone cares
And their lives will be stronger and free
As God has shown us by turning stone to bread
So we all must lend a helping hand
We are the world
We are the children
We are the ones who make a brighter day
So let's start giving
There's a choice we're making
We're saving our own lives
It's true we'll make a better day
Just you and me
When you're down and out
There seems no hope at all
But if you just believe
There's no way we can fall
Well, well, well, well, let us realize
That a change will only come
When we stand together as one
We are the world
We are the children
We are the ones who make a brighter day
So let's start giving
There's a choice we're making
We're saving our own lives
It's true we'll make a better day

There's children on the street using guns and knives
Taking drugs and each others lives
Killing each other with knives and forks
And calling each other names like dork
There's people on the street getting diseases from monkeys
Yeah that's what I said, they're getting diseases from monkeys
Now there's junkies with monkey disease
Whose touching these monkeys please
Leave these poor sick monkeys alone
They got problems enough as it is
A man is lying on the street, some punk has chopped off his head
I'm the only one who stops to see if he's dead,
Mmmmmhhhh
Turns out he's dead
And that's why I'm singing
What? What is wrong with the world today?
What's wrong with the world today?
What? What is wrong with the world today?
You gotta think about it, think, think about it
Good cops been framed and put into a can
And all the money that we're making is going to the man.
What man? Which the man? Whose the man? When's a man a man?
What makes a man a man?
Am I a man? Yes, technically I am.
They're turning kids into slaves just to make cheaper sneakers,
But what's the real cost? Cause the sneakers don't seem that much cheaper.
Why are we still paying so much for sneakers when you got them made by little slave kids?
What are your overheads?
At the end of your life you're lucky if you die
Sometimes I wonder why we even try.
I saw a man lying on the street half dead
With knives and forks sticking out of his leg
And he said, Ahh ahh ahh aowww wow wow wow wow wow
Can somebody get the knife and fork out of my leg please?
Can somebody please remove these cutleries from my knees?
And then we break it down.
Yeah whoo
This the acappella jams
whoo whoo whoo whoo whoo
whoo whoo whoo yeah yeah
yeah ah ah ah ahhhh ahhhhh
whoa whoa whoa whoaaaa ohh break it down
And then we bring it back
Jammin out were just jammin out
yeah oh oh oh hooh ahhhh oh ho ho oh ohhh

I think that in many parts of the world, human life is given more worth than it has ever had, throughout all of history. In some parts, life is still pretty cheap, but in many its of more value than ever before.
However:
Worn out places, worn out faces
Bright and early for their daily races
Goin' nowhere, goin' nowhere
Their tears are fillin' up their glasses
No expression, no expression
Hide my head I want to drown my sorrow
No tomorrow, no tomorrow
And I find it kind of funny
I find it kind of sad
The dreams in which I'm dyin'
Are the best I've ever had
I find it hard to tell you
'Cause I find it hard to take
When people run in circles
It's a very, very
Mad world, mad world
Mad world, mad world
Children waitin' for the day they feel good
Happy birthday, happy birthday
Made to feel the way that every child should
Sits and listen, sits and listen
Went to school and I was very nervous
No one knew me, no one knew me
Hello teacher tell me what's my lesson?
Look right through me, look right through me
And I find it kind of funny
I find it kind of sad
The dreams in which I'm dyin'
Are the best I've ever had
I find it hard to tell you
'Cause I find it hard to take
When people run in circles
It's a very, very
Mad world, mad world

'Cause I find it hard to take

It's a very, very
Mad world, mad world
Mad world, mad world
A raunchy young world
Mad world

From what I've read things are better. There are significantly less proxy wars and wars than just a century ago. Medical tech is better (insurance squabbles aside). Humans are heathier. Human beings are always getting smarter (there is a name for this phenomenon, which of course, I can't remember). If anything, we are on a slight down slope of what will eventually be a big upslope. Things aren't better? A Sumerian scribe would have killed for a computer with a printer and Socrates would have loved to bitch at people on internet forums all day. I'm just glad I don't have to track a yak across the frozen tundra every damn month.
