Your opinions on argyle sweaters - Page 3

I'm not a fan of argyle. One can wear it and it won't look bad...but...it just seems too obviously preppy to me.

I hate argyle sweaters.

A few Argyle socks ... from the Green/Brown sock drawer.

Most of my Argyle sweaters are in similar colors

Argyle is fine just don't overdue it. Personally, I keep everything else fairly muted when I wear argyle.

how do you maintain the preppy aspect rather than look like this:

Some hip-hop styles draw from traditional styles. They tend to look different because hip-hop fans like to wear them 3 sizes too big. If you want a traditional look, get one that fits.

Argyle on the way out? No shit. Just when I was getting into it. This is silly. Drake's is selling some argyle sweater vests I wouldn't mind owning. If you like it, wear it.

I have always worn argyle socks and have a ben sherman sweater I wear fairly regularly in both casual and semi-formal contexts. I like it because it's just blue and white with no other colors or connecting lines to get tired of.

I think the cut and quality of the sweater, as usual, determines its longevity.

Argyle is cool with the right color combo.

I have an argyle sweater. Brown with black and gray diamonds. I like it, and wish I had more in warmer fabrics for the time of year when cotton doesn't cut it. And I don't see that changing just becuase a few designers in New York City want to sell more sweaters.

Considering aesthetics are rooted in socialization things do look good at some time and bad in others. Fashion fads are of course usually more short term than massive shifts in aesthetics but a certain media and mass production overdose can make something you used to like tired.
