Braces? - Page 2

Adult braces-wearer checking in. I'm going in for tightening tomorrow actually. Price seems about right as that is around what I'm paying. Good luck!

Sounds about right. I'd say do it

my friends mother had invisaligns 4 or 5 years ago and she said that they sucked and really didn't do that much.

I would go to an actual orthodontist, not a dentist who does braces on the side for extra money. This is a big expense and something you want done right. At the very least, I'd suggest a second opinion from an orthodontist.

Go for it! I have had mine in two years and two months now and the top arch is due to be removed in a week. I have been far too self conscious about them, but I would still have gone through with it. Mind you I did have gapped teeth and quite an overjet.

I had braces when I was a teenager. Didn't wear the retainer from day 1. 1 front tooth slipped a bit. Meh.

I didn't get my braces till I was 19, and have had them in for 3 years. I'm glade I got them because the crooked teeth before looked horrible. You should definitely check out this process called "orthotropics" basically the reason you have uneven teeth is because your oral posture may be incorrect. I used to not keep my tongue on the pallet of my mouth and that probably caused my problems.

hi there...

i went to get my braces yesterday!
i was crying before id even walked in the surgery, i sat in the seat an just thought ive got to do it! grippin hold of my hands n holdin tight waitin for the pain that people have been tellin me about n scarin me with, before i knew it he told me 2 rinse my mouth an handed me a mirror! it took about 10minutes (for my top teeth) so if you were having all your teeth bottom and top it would take about 20 minutes.

Considering this too.

My dentist (who shares an office with an actual ortho) told me that the invisalign trays can do double duty as whitening trays, so no need to pay extra for them when it comes to whitening.

sounds good, have heard that the invisaligns are great

After treatment with braces, it's very likely that you will need to wear a retainer as long as you want the teeth not to move back. Not daily, though.

wow you guys got really good prices. the total price for me was $6,750. insurance covered like 2400 though

Yeah. I'm in the same boat. 7k.

But I think the process has changed considerably. Before it used to be a matter of moving the teeth to the right alignment, now it's a matter of reworking and remolding, if you will, of the entire bone structure of the jaw. They're also looking past the teeth; jaw joints, posture, eyesight, etc.

Just got mine (25 yrs) this week, not invisalign since my teeth were/are movie monster bad, so that just wasn't an option. My friends sister got invisalign and it worked really well for her in a short time apparently(though I don't think they were that bad to begin with.

I'm on some very noticable(compared to invisalign) damon 3 system, it'll be about 6k when I'm finished; supposed to work in 12 months though if everything goes alright.

I'd say i wish I got these as a kid, but really, when I was a kid I would have to have had them on for like 3 years, so glad I waited for the technology to improve. it's a hassle, it sucks, and socially it's probably embarressing, but I'm an adult(more or less) now so what do I care, I have screwed up teeth, and I'm getting them fixed.
