L.A. Get Together

Thread Starter
I will be arriving in L.A. on Wednesday afternoon and leaving Friday morning. Is there any interest among SF Angelenos for a get together for drinks/dinner on Wednesday or Thursday evening? If so, please indicate which day works better for your schedule. Also, I have a choice between a direct flight from D.C. to LAX and a connecting flight through Phoenix from D.C. to Burbank. Which flight would you recommend I choose if I am staying in Old Pasadena?

I'm not free those nights. However, as to your flight, if the connector isn't significantly longer, Burbank is a much easier drive into Pasadena. Have a safe trip.

Yeah, but then you miss those seedy stipclubs that surround LAX .

Burbank to Pasadena is 15 min with flowing traffic. LAX to Pasadena about 30-40 min

have fun with your stay.

I'm up for Wednesday night.

I might be able to do Wednesday, subject to the whim of a client.

As far as airports, there really is no reason for you to use LAX, unless the flight times to Burbank simply won't work for you. Burbank is superior in almost every way--proximity to Pasadena, security lines, boarding procedures....

I wish I could go, but wading through LA traffic in the middle of weeknight is too much even for an SF get-together. Hope you enjoy your time out here: the weather's supposed to be very nice this week.

BURBANK AIRPORT IS THE BANE OF MY EXISTENCE.
the people that work there without fail, give me shit about SOMETHING every time i have to depart from there. i also find it quite slow with boarding procedures and security. maybe its just me...
my favorite airport is Sea Tac.

I know that I can't do Wednesday. I might be able to do Thursday.

BUR BUR BUR!!! especially if you're getting into LA anywhere between the times of 3-7pm. i've had 1.5-2 hour drives home to South Pasadena from LAX during rush hour. the 110N will be absolutely horrendous!!!

in fact, i would take the connecting flight just so i could get out of having to fly into LAX.

BUR is a much better option.
