Do you like store labels on your clothes - Page 2

I think the OP has a point. Not many suits have labels blaring, and I don't care if they are out of sight, but I find the growing number of shirt buttons with logos, and shoes with them put me off.

There's obviously no point discussing sportswear. That's all about the label.

I don't worry about it that much, there are other ways to tell teh quality of something besides brand labels. Besides most of mt clothes carry all the lables on the inside.

i think he is referring to the labels like Brioni for Saks Fifth Avenue, or Richards Greenwich etc. But if you dont like those you can always just get it straight from the brand you know...

But how else will people know my suit is from Express unless I keep the store label on the sleeve????

I noticed that some people like to flash their inside pockets where the label is or flash their jacket lining to show off.

While I agree with the OP's sentiments I don't give it much of a thought on something like a suit. I am pretty averse to logos in general and have found that I rarely wear a wonderful pair of suede Paraboots because of the branded tag sewn into the moc-toe, where the vamp meets the quarter. Probably a little bit obsessive but...

Agree with that..Except the Lacoste croc or other sport brands discret tag , I never ever buy any clothes with a brand name on display.

I do hate the LV logo on certain shoes or the Versace medusa on tee-shirts and so on..

I used to have Russian students staying in my house and i was amazed how many labels were on display on their clothes..

Manufacturer labels are one thing, but many stores (in my opinion) are getting a free ride on us by putting their store labels on the clothes. Did they pay us for this service? No. Discount? No.
I am considering a new policy on my clothes. That being no more store labels, or demanding a discount for placing a store label on my suit/jacket, etc.
I may even remove all the store labels from the clothes I already have.
Money is money. My standpoint is that stores should pay us to advertise for them.
This also goes for cars with the damned dealer plate/stickers, and plastic bags from any other store for that matter. I'm tired of being a walking billboard. What are your thoughts?

Pay you? WTF. They put those labels in there either just because they want to show who was selling it or because they tailored it or it was a special line made for them.
