Hilary Mantel wins Man Booker

I haven't enjoyed a Man Booker winner since Hollinghurst's The Line of Beauty, which was '06 I think. But I look forward to reading this. http://www.independent.co.uk/arts-en...r-1798605.html

Please don't tell me you think Mantel is hot. As for the book, I haven't read it yet either, but it sounds interesting & is on my wishlist. I thought White Tiger was fun, btw, and a fairly quick read.

I enjoyed Yann Martel's Life of Pi. It's the only Booker list author I've read so I can't comment on the quality of the winner's but I liked it.

booker is brit prize, yes? i'm pretty sure james kelman won it for a book i was never able to finish, 'how late it was, how late(?)', about a drunken glaswegian who wakes up blind after a bender... maybe i'll give it another shot. have never heard of the author you discuss
