Viccel.com socks - Page 56

Does anybody else had any issues with the quality of the socks recently? Of the latest four pair I've ordered all of them got holes really fast. This has not been an issue previously.

One pair got holes after ONE day of use, in formal shoes with smooth leather in-soles. I need new socks now, but are skeptical to order from Viccel again. Have I just been un-lucky with the batch or is the quality getting worse?

I've tried contacting them by email, but got no response.

nope, ordered about 6 pairs a month or two ago, and everything is good.

I've not  purchased in the past 6 months, I walk about 1 1/2 miles to work and back, I've not seen any signs of wear on my socks.

Only one sock, was a pair of AE that had a hard thread sticking down by the bottom of the laces, when I put my hand in there I was amazed it did not tear up my foot.

I returned them for a pair of Delray.

Thanks for the replies. I've ordered a new batch today. Hopefully it's of better quality this time.

Just want to thank Viccel for excellent customer service when they found my email. I got replacement for my whole order.

Hopefully it will be no quality issues this time around. @KemalOnyurt

I've been looking for a nice, decently durable dress sock that can dry overnight (due to lots of time on the road and a subsequent habit of daily laundering). From what I've read, it seems like the Summer Weights would fit the bill? Also does as much skin show through the socks as the sample images seem to suggest?

I posted some pics on post #799, my camera seem to show more skin than I see. I notice some skin through the socks at the widest part of my foot and my calf for the summer weights. I prefer the thicker socks as they seem to stay up better, after a few wears I have to pull up my summer weights when I get to work, I walk a mile and a half to work. I've had heavier weights almost a year  and they stay up all day.

I would think the summer weights would dry over night, if you had air movement probably more like half an hour. When I was staying in a motel I'd hang them in front of the fan and they would dry in about 30 minutes and the heavy weights about 1.5 - 2 hours.

You may want to try a couple of weights at this price to see what actually works best for you. The heavier ones seem to retain the stretch and stay up better after some wears, they are my favorites even in summer.

These are beautiful, I think way nicer in person than the pics on the site.

Would be nice to have some brown ones.

Oh wow, 2 hours is enough? I'd be fine with 6! I don't want to have to replace them all that often so I think the winter weight would be more to my liking, as long as they can dry in time. Would they be too thick for that though?

If you hang them in front of a fan, no doubt, just hanging I doubt the heavy weights would dry in 6 hours. Now since I moved I just hang them on a rack in the laundry room, over in the corner with not much air movement. Just about to hang some up, if they are dry in 6 hours I'll let you know.

Just checking - you mean the non-heavy winter weight ones, right? Anyway, thanks!

Sorry about this, I fell a sleep on the couch watching a movie.

At 12 hours of hanging the heavy weight socks feel dry inside and out but feel cooler than room temperature.

I'd say they are dry but not bone dry, you would need some air movement to get them dry in 6 hours.

Wow, I'm surprised the two intermediate thicknesses are so different...maybe I should look at the Summer Weight ones despite their downsides. Thanks a lot for taking the time to experiment!
