Detroit Tigers / Twins

After holding on to (clinging) to first place since May in the AL Central, the Detroit Tigers are down to a one game duel with the Twins (who seem to have our number.) What makes it worse is that the game will be played in the Dome. Today, Mitch Albom put it nicely: "First, get there, which means Tuesday, at the indoor thunder palace, against a team that seemingly has forgotten how to lose. The Twins have scored 36 runs in their past four games. Against that juggernaut, the Tigers will offer up Rick Porcello, who this Christmas will still be too young (20) to legally drink spiked eggnog." Tiger fans can hope. This is all seems like a movie. Where's Robert Redford? Back in April, no one expected ANYTHING from the Tigers. They have delivered everything.

Tigers 7 Twins 5. The thing about overcoming a huge deficit is that you poop yourself out doing it most of the time. Extending pitchers beyond what they should do....for this era anyway.

Chuck Schumer called it for the Twins on today's "Morning Joe."

Well that's certainly not true.

Yeah, not sure how a team with the 5th highest payroll in baseball could have no expectations at the start of the season.

Not just that, but the Central still wasn't projected to be all that great. The Twins had a suspect rotation going in, the Indians had clear pitching problems, the Royals are the Royals, and the White Sox couldn't hit. Tigers were the favorites, if not next in line to take the division going into the season.

This is just another delay before the inevitable loss to the Yankees

What about all this stuff about blowing a .26 and getting into a fight with his wife. How dare he take the chance of fucking our season over.
