I need to have some business cards made, any ideas where I can get a lot of them for not too much money? Its for a small side venture I'm starting?

Also, any ideas as to make a unique card?

I'm a graphic designer that specializes in print design and I use vistaprint.com. It's fast, you get a whole box of cards for pretty cheap by uploading your own design or use their stock ones. Plus they keep your design on file so you can reorder more without uploading the design again.

http://www.overnightprints.com/

Great prices and the standard paper is nice and thick. I opt for no gloss.

I'd pass on Vistaprint. Bad printing and cheap card stock. Surprised a graphic designer is recommending them...

Printing is okay. Their paper stocking are inferior to many of the local copy shops and even those print-your-self name card stock.

It really depends on what you are looking for. I use them for matte prints. I can't stand when I get handed a business card full of flash and gloss but without any aesthetic. When you have a good design the quality of print will be secondary.

I wasnt impressed by the printing. Maybe I saw the stock and decided it was a dealbreaker so it wasnt important to look at the printing.

I'm sorry, I would never hand someone the cheap card stock that VistaPrint uses.

While good design is important, it can be let down by bad printing and cheap paper.

No good design can masquerade the deficiency of materials used. VistaPrint's card stock is insubstantial and as such the image it conveys.

Raising this one from the dead.

I'm thinking about having some cards made up for networking a new job. Something that gets the point across, but nothing flashy, no stupid designs.

I'm considering using Cranes, they're expensive but they're nice. Any other alternatives before I take the plunge?
