Cheap/good NYC Food

I'm heading to NYC in a few weeks and will be by the satellite school for Fordham in Manhattan. Does anyone have any suggestions for some good lunch/dinner food that I wouldn't be able to get outside of New York? Cheers, Jonathan

Hagi Sake Bar on 49th between 6th and 7th. Japanese food (not sushi), small plates, $3 to $8 a plate. Order anything off the menu, but order extras of the items with the words 'pork' and 'fatty' in their descriptions.

Cheers,

How about some Korean food (and love) in K-town? Excellent kim-chi, if you know what I mean bra.

taqueria pampano, an offshoot of their excellent restaurant. 50th and 3rd. 3 tacos (awesome) rice beans and a drink is about 10 bucks

If you used the search function, you'd have found this "Best Cheap/ Fairly priced Eats in NYC that Youve been to or heard of..." http://www.styleforum.net/showthread.php?t=48155

it's a lunch stand in an office bulding, an offshoot of the restaurant. the restaurant is like $150+ for 2 but the taqueria is amazing and cheap.

Thanks for all the input. Just to add, I've lived in both SD and Norcal, so I have the Asian food and Mexican food covered. I'm hoping for some greasy spoon/Deli stuff! Edit: And thanks in particular for those links.

That's defintely cheap for 50th and 3rd. I live in queens and tacos on roosevelt ave are $2 a pop, rice+beans is another $3-$4, plus a drink for $1..It's all relative, but shit yeah, that's cheap... I would check out the bar at Craft. It has cheaper, smaller alternatives than the restaurant but really good nonetheless..plus i dig the setup of the place.

iam nto sure, i guess if it cheao for the area it cheap for area, frankly i would never spend more than 15 pesos for taco and it would a large taco because for another 5 i can get a gringa or something similar. but what is it with the beans and rice i have not seen a taco palce that has beans and rice.
