I can't believe it. Is everything fine with your LCD display? smile.gif

I doubt it can help as I see no such effect of darkening when polish my leather shoes. I guess it must be something else, like a chemical solution or something like it.

Good to know. Thanks. I think they should have done a better job placing a bigger and more diverse swatches on their site. It could be pictures of real gloves, not some abstract squares, those are not even pictures. If I was an owner of this store I'd also put some comparative pictures - say take a shot of gloves along with oranges, flowers, furnuture or else.

I doubt it would be worth the money to have them altered, even if you managed to find someone who could do it (unlikely, I think). If the hand opening is too small, you'll just have to opt for a different style; all of my gloves have notches at the wrist so that the hand opening is comfortable to pull over your hand.

Bummer about the whole situation.

Wrote them a letter. Here is what they say:
---
Thank you for your email and I am sorry to hear you are unhappy with the colour of your gloves.

The Oakapple colour is a dull orange colour and this is shown as clear as possible on the website. We use actual pieces of the leather to display the colours on the website to get the best possible likeness.
If you wanted a light Brown or Tan colour we do have a Tan (2 spaces right of Oakapple) and for light brown Cognac is perfect.

Unfortunately I can not accept the return of these gloves as our policy states here: http://www.chesterjefferies.co.uk/scripts/terms.asp

Kind regards

---

What's wrong with Chester Jefferies? Can't they see a real color differs intensely from what they have on their site as a sample?

First wear of peccary gloves from Mazzoleni today.

Unlined, and super comfortable.

I guess I never posted these Chester Jefferies carpincho gloves with rabbit fur lining that I got from @Grammaton Cleric. This was his pic, but I wore 'em all winter and they really are fantastic gloves.

I'm considering ordering some black gloves from CJ too for next winter. What's the SF opinion on leathers for black gloves? Is a smooth leather like capeskin better (more formal) or would black carpincho look great too? I just don't see a lot of images of black carpincho out there. NMWA has some nice grey carpincho Merolas though: http://www.nomanwalksalone.com/index.php/accessories/gloves/grey-real-carpincho-unlined-gloves-1995.html

I dont really like CJ's capeskin. I think it looks a bit cheap - too smooth. Much prefer the deerskin (ordered swatches). It has a nice mottled texture naturally.

Cool, thanks for the info. I didn't realize ordering swatches was a possibility.

You weren't kidding! A quick search led me to these driving gloves of theirs. Killer!

So what's the deal with July/August? Will you be stopping by their shop? I'd definitely be interested in a few of the more exotic options.

Python leather isn't particularly hardy as far as I know, though, so as lovely as they look, I'd be hesitant with buying those.

I visited the factory with the store I work, and made an order for quite some models. The python part is on the back part of the glove, and it's pure porn. Send me a pm and I'll find the models and everything.
