Pictures of nice gloves...? - Page 10

Those look nice, Quede- I myself have decided not to order gloves online for now cause I want to try them on. I am of the opinion that they need to be a tad too tight at first cause they'll stretch and that's very hard to simulate by numbers/meassures alone...also other factors like smell etc are important to me and those cannot be tested online, yet, either...

Mine are 8.5". Close fit at first, but have loosened up. Possible to go down .5" for a really close fit. The leather (cape) is of course very soft and supple, so might struggle with a different sort of leather. If I get black (for the Jeremy Brett / SH look) I'll get a close fitting pair!

I remember that I liked some of your posts but don't think that we have chatted yet. Ignoring the time factor can be useful at times (e.g. mathematics, aspects of tradition) but don't put too much emphasis on what I said here or there several weeks ago unless I state otherwise. Wittgenstein also had made that mistake btw (namely to ignore the factor of change and mutation on a cosmic and ontological level) so you're in good company there, anyway.

p.s. Habsburg [I know that in English 'Hapsburg' is also an acceptable spelling but 'Habsburg' is the more correct one. Have you read Huizinga's book on the late Burgundian court? I heard that it's quite good.].

The CJ for Jay Kos gloves are 40% off for the next 19 hours. I just bought a pair of the chamois gloves for $60. Thanks for the link mr monty: http://stores.ebay.com/closetM_Jay-K...634Q2ec0Q2em14

Who's he buying for, the green giant?

I don't think many people have size 11 hands. Keep the stock to 7.5-9, add more colors like grey(which he said he can't) and he'd sell more.

These are the Confidant with red silk lining.

Not a lover of that type of seam stitch - too blocky/bulgy. I got my chamois CJs today, and they have that type. I prefer the invisible seam stitch for a rounded/smooth look. Partially my fault since I did a half/half order or Paris style with shorter wrist of the Francis. But what I got was Francis stitching and wrist.

The chamois feels fantastic and soft though. I'll post pics later

I meant the color of the leather. It's tough to figure out what the actual color of leather will be by judging from their website photos.

I see, that is the chukka brown. But I think it's seems to be close to burgundy.

^^^Looks great. I like the size of the button.

Cheers. As the gloves developed a patina the plastic button looked increasingly out of place. Bone should gradually discolour and stain and age nicely with the gloves. Bit of an oversight on CJ's part - lovely leather, crap button.

Mine came with the same stitching and button, but in frigate grey chamois. Very soft sort of suede . But I don't like the outside type of stitching and had them make me another pair with the seams hidden on the inside of the glove. Can't stand anything other than a smooth look. Still waiting to get them before the 20th.

Here are my favourite gloves; a pair of shearling Polo Ralph Lauren gloves, made in Italy. Purchased a few months ago via eBay. NWT $225 if I remember correctly, my price was about $100. I love wearing them with my C&J Westfield Oxfords! The texture is very similar, although the gloves are slightly brighter in their colour.
