Why Facial Hair?

If you've ever grown facial hair, more than stubble, why? Please take the poll. Stories below also are welcome.

Self expression, I guess. I've found a style that works really good and portrays my personality. Just a neatly trimmed full beard and most of the neck shaved.

When I was out on a bar some weeks ago, a random guy approached me and said, "Whatever you do, don't lose the beard - it's perfect!". I'm guessing that there's reasons to keep the beard when totally random people give compliments on the beard.

In case I need to make a "quick get away" shaving off a beard to alter your appearance is a lot easier than growing one.

Truth is, most men do it to give the illusion of a chin they are too fat to have. Not shaving is an easy alternative to losing weight.

Mine come and go. They usually show up during exam period when I can't be bothered to shave, then get cleaned up, and then go away whenever I get tired of them. People seem to like it though.

Yup. Around the end of the semester I'll shave on saturday and ignore it for a week.
