Pretty much sums up Lynah, except with wooden benches (metal would be so cold!).

Ithaca is f'ing cold, we'll take any advantage we can get even if that means wood and not metal benches.

Then again, the Lynah Faithful don't sit down at the games so it's generally a moot point in the first place.

Evidently, you're not familiar with North Dakota's winters. During one thirteen-day stretch a few years back, the highest high was -17 F. This last winter, I drove to work on several mornings when it was -25 F.

But warming is for warmup time. Game time, and everybody's up. Well, that was at the old arena. At the new one, the seats are nice, padded, theater-style seats with cherry arm rests.

oh ND is certainly colder - but Ithaca hovers that line between "pretty cold" and "really f'ing bitter" too much so students are often ill prepared for the elements thus making the weather seem worse.

And at least your arena is pretty elements-proof. We still have the foil-looking ceilings.

Jared,

And Kariya scores twice.... long shot, but I hope he gets in the Olympics. He has been my favorite player since he got in the league.

just to revive for a little update. So far, Cornell hockey has been exceptional. They've only played 3 league games (thanks to the shitty Ivy League rules), but here's how things have boiled down: 13 goals for 6 goals against PP: 8 for 18 (44%) PK: 16 for 18 (89%) 7 players have averaged at least 1 point per game and 5 are at 1+ points per game Goaltender Scrivens 1.99 GAA and .922% save % #1 offense in the country (and with only 3 games played!) #6 defense in the country Lets go red!!

And that is without wind chill-straight temp! Yes, ND, MN, WI and the UP of MI get F'ing cold too!

I think ND will be a big challenge for the red. Bigger than BU in a few weeks. They better get their game together, I'm hoping for a split.

BU? They've hit the skids lately...which is not to say Cornell won't deserve any points they get (I'm predicting at least 3, if the play a back-to-back). As far as I can tell, this is probably the best team Cornell's had in four or five seasons.

skids yes, but still a very important game for Cornell. There is a lot more at stake than the 2 points, BU really gave it to Cornell last time at MSG (a year or two ago). Now Cornell has to deal with that plus the whole defending national champs thing. Either way, I have my tickets and I am thrilled they'll be back at MSG.

While it is too early to tell, this looks like the best Cornell team of the past decade. They're a big team too but they still have the skill to make the plays. Also, the freshmen look solid, Esposito has some hands on him. They'll lose goalie Scrivens after this season, but Andy Iles has committed (and he's the top US goalie prospect, playing for US under-18. Cornell's only loss this season in exhibition - against Iles)

And I'm noping for a split with ND.
