totally, it rains constantly, never stops, hasn't stopped since I moved here ten years ago. rains indoors in fact.

EDIT - obviously I am being a goof. I have lived in both places and like them both a lot. It depends on what you are after in life really. If you like nature, you will prefer Seattle. If you want to work on K Street, that is in DC and it isn't moving. I prefer the weather in Seattle over DC, but I didn't have strong objections to DC weather.

DC is nice, but I personally think the real estate is overpriced, and the weather sucks. I'd only live there if I absolutely had to for work.

Very true, with 3/4 of the city "up and coming." I have my doubts.

As a native, I'll always have a place in my heart for Seattle. I'll probably end up back there eventually. As for NY being dead - yeah, it's dead if you're looking for trends, networking and all that. For real love of the city, it's never dead. It's NYC! I thought Seattle had really high unemployment? How is that good for young professionals? Good for everything but getting a job?

The job market isn't that bad here, actually. Portland is the one with double-digit unemployment. Russell Investments is moving to Seattle in 2010 so if you're into finance, you got a shot here.

I want to know where all the "hot hipster" chicks are at in DC. DC is a very nice to live. It's growing and has a lot of potential but because of the political climate and conservative nature of the District the city and surrounding area will never be "HIP"
when lawyers can wear thom brown and girls can be sexy but appropriate at the work place then I will retract my words. Until then conservative old white men reign and that sucks for such a "liberal " city.
