Couldn't pick two more different cities. I am surprised they tied.

DC is pretty awesome.

Great, varied nightlife: Young professionals party a lot here.
Great food.
Conducive to people with active lifestyles : lot's of parks.
A lot of schools nearby - Goergetown, George Mason, American, Catholic, Howard, etc.
Very diverse: almost nobody is a local (by which I mean from DC, montgomery county, pg county, NoVA).
It's not so big you get overwhelmed, it's not so small you get bored.

Personally, I think it's a great city tobegin professional life after ungergrad/graduate school, work for 3-5 years, move somewhere bigger/flashier (NYC, abroad), and move back to settle (though I'd rather not).

+1.

I could very well see myself starting my career in DC.

People used to tell me DC was boring but I really enjoyed my time there. And some of the interns are gorgeous.

I find this especially interesting as I'm considering leaving one for the other. Thanks for the article.

I went to this bar last night with Magician and some mutual friends and by god. Granted, the chick most likely isn't an intern but fuck me was she and her friend hot.

DC has a lot of hot hipster girls. A lot of hot southern girls. A lot of hot, "smart" girls on the Hill and sprinkled among federal agencies. a lot of hot college and grad and law school girls.

There are easily two hot cougars in my building right now.

DC used to be one of the worst food cities. I think it began to get better in the late 90's. I think it is a good food city now. But Seattle is a better food city.

If you aren't a small timer, NYC.

Yes, almost as "dead" as DC and Seattle.
