Cars that look outdated

Thread Starter
I just can't bring myself to spend money on some cars that look outdated too soon. Prime example is Infiniti. Their shape went from rounded to boxy to boxy/rounded.

What are some others that you believe fall into this category?

pre-facelift 2003-2005 (?) 7-series the 6-series non-M E36 cars with the grey rockers 1996-1999 E-class the previous generation C-class, especially the one with the non-projector headlights most everything Korean not released in the past two years or year and a half most Japanese cars from the 1990's, and many from this decade. Yahoo! Japan used domestic car listings are probably the best source for looking at outdated, unwanted cars. DC2 Integra Type-R's with the 4X114.3 hubs are like $2000 now, and they just look old. Some of you guys probably remember when people would pay $5000 just for the front sheetmetal, headlights, and bumper off that car. Most Jaguars look old right when they're released and the new ones just look like generic Fomoco products. The XJS in lighter colors is so late-70's and early '80's it hurts, it looks like shit in US-spec Most of the non-exotic Italian cars 914's, 924's, 944's, 928's, 968's, 996's first-run A4's with the 2-piece lights, first-run A6's, first-run A8's, most of the Audi's from the 1980's, etc Everything Pontiac has made in the past 30 years, most everything GM, I should say. Corvettes begin to look old immediately when a new model is released. The C5 looked pretty nice back in 1997, 5 years later it looked so old to me. Most everything Ford. Most everything Chrysler, not to mention everything they make is ugly.

A good reason to go with a well-kept classic car, especially if your wardrobe follows a classic/timeless archetype. I recommend something European from the 80s as a daily driver, so it won't rust to nothing instantly. For compact, I like the Mercedes-Benz 190E, the 3-series if a coupe or convertible, the 5-series if you want something a bit larger, topping out with the S-class for a sedan or 6-series. You could get away with a Jaguar XJ6, as they've looked the same for 40 years, but you'd need to focus on the late 80s. The 928 was so far ahead of it's time it still hasn't dated, imo - I suggest the S4 or later.

If climate permits, I like the 2002, the 3.0CS, RR Corniche coupe, Jaguar XJ6C, and the pre-1973 Mercedes coupes.

I've been thinking about a mid-90s S-class for a commuter/beater, but they are strange - totally bulletproof in all the right respects(engine, body), and incredibly flakey when it comes to random important parts (something like a window regulator goes out when your windows are down, and costs an arm and a leg to repair)

Not but the worst 911 ever is the 996, bad as hell. Tons of them are running their 2nd engine with 120.000 kms only. See adds in Europe-

997 looks great and if God helps me with my Bussiness, I´ll upgrade to a 2005, 997 carrera Cabrio S in one year.
