Official Filson Thread - Clothing/Bags Etc - Page 26

Cool, thanks. Mine doesn't actually smell, fortunately. Just kinda oily.
pics?
Of the oiliness? It'd be kind of hard to capture in a photograph. It's more of a tactile thing.

Damn need to follow this thread more closely.....

Yes just call the store. Dave, Chuck, Shane, Carolyn and maybe myself are who you would talk to about anything Filson related.

Concerning the oiled trucker jackets. Any of the Filson oiled products may feel greasy and have a very distinctive smell. Wear the hell out of it and the greasy feeling will fade away along with the smell. It's a paraffin based waterproofing wax that won't hurt you or anything else. Just keep in mind that the wax is what keeps it wind and water resistant so if you let it dry out and don't reapply it you might not want to go for a walk in the rain.

Rad, thanks. And yeah, bought it for the wind and water resistance, so that's perfect. It came with a container of wax, so I should be ok to keep it going.

i want to see pics of someone wearing the jacket in real life
post #382 of 674
There's already one in WAYWT, and I want to say it's in the "best of" thread as well.

I'll try to take a pic soon and post it here. Bear in mind that it's gonna be stiff and awkward, since the jacket's boxfresh and needs to be broken in.

The 25% off code HICKEYFF can also be applied to the filson bags they carry online
http://www.hickeyfreeman.com/mens-bags/
The selection is limited though, only 220s in tan and 252 Leather Field Satchels.

Does anyone have any experience with their belts? I would like to see a picture of the 1.5 inch belt while someone is wearing it. Or just a general review would be good.

the 1.5 is pretty wide, make sure it fits. The bridle leather is what you'd expect and I thought the hardware was good. Their site says to use your waist size, but I found this is wrong. They are sized just like normal belts, i.e. get 1-2" larger than your pants size (at least this was the case ~5 years ago).
