Too many Skinny Jeans!. New Pair. "Kill City"

So, I posted a thread last week about my newly aquired Acne Max Cash and Cheap Monday jeans.

I must be addicted, I was at Urban Outfitters on Melrose yesterday (I'm never normally in that part of town or in an Urban store for that matter). They had a line of jeans called "Kill City" the names a little harsh for my liking but they had some skinny jeans called "MOD FIT" in Pure Black. I've looked around for a while for a nice Black skinny jean, these buggers were only $72. I never thought I'd purchase two jeans in the space of two weeks for under $80.

I'm off to Coachella on Saturday and these will fit the bill, the leg opening is 14", really clean top to bottom.

Does anyone else have these?, I'm quite suprised at the fit and quality of these lower price point jeans, I must be getting over my snobbery.

If anyone else has recomendations for skinny jeans under a $100 do tell!

Recently I've been into my Levis redtab 514 "slim straights". They arent superduper heroin skinny but are def slim, about the same measurements as the Slim Jim. Picked up the overdyed black pair (already had the oil wash) last nite for $31 at Mervyns which fit really damn good imo. They run about 2" larger than tagged.

Eek, they're not stretch jeans are they? If you like em, good job on the find nontheless!

Wish I could go to Coachella, I such at buying sold out concert tickets

I too recently purchased a pair of Levis red tab slim straight 514 jeans for about $55 from Levis website. Yeah, I violated the cardinal rule of shopping and paid retail but it was cheap enough, although now I feel somewhat cheated because Get Smart got them for $30. I've been wearing only bootcut jeans for years but the skinny jean trend has belatedly started to look good to me. The main reason I shunned away from straight jeans was the bulging thighs and the overall reverse-triangle look, but these Levis jeans are cut slim enough at thigh and as Get Smart said, I think they fit damn good. Although I think they fit fairly true to size, not 2" larger- I wear 46 for dress trousers, not from Ralph Lauren, but designers like Costume National and Martine Margeila, but the Levis jeans I got were size 31 and it fit just right.

hmm...I have 2 pairs and both are tagged 30 waists...I normally wear 32 for a comfort fit. Mine measure 16" across on the waist after breaking out the tape. When I tried a 32, I was swimming in em. well, whatever works...numbers mean fuck all to me if I'm there to try em out. ..but I have heard from other reviews of the 514s that the wearers also feel they run larger than tag.

Yep they're stretch alright, not the same fit as the ones in the link, plus they look way better on.

I wasn't a fan of stretch prior to buying the Cheap Monday jeans, but i've really come around now. All doubters should give it a try, I won't weigh 155 for ever.

Hmm I'm looking for a CHEAP pair of inky black slim fitting jeans, this is mostly a whim so don't start suggesting nudie slim jim or something along that price range. Those look a lot like denim leggings though so I'm really wondering if there are any alternative choices...

get smart: 514 look pretty good, care to post a picture of you wearing them?

Here's one from an older "what are you wearing" thread. These are 514 in oil slick wash. I'll post another one friday of the overdyed black, which feel/look slimmer than the oil slicks.

tommib what kind of boots are those (brand, model, etc.)?

those kill city jeans from the link are absolutely hideous. There's a difference between having a well fitting jean and just plain looking like a girl. In fact, most girls shouldn't even be wearing jeans that tight

This pair of jeans is hideous.

looking good, I'm looking forward to seing the overdyed ones. The only problem I might encounter is that the smallest size listed on the website is 30 and you mentionned going to sizes down (I would need a 28).

Not sure the model but I got them Jones in the UK, they're a shoe shop chain. Not particularly expensive or anything. They've got a nice thin sole which I like.

Fuuma, here is a pic of the 514 in overdyed black. Funny you mentioned you wanted something 'inky black' because that is just how i'd describe these. The color is almost a really really dark dark blue. Anyways, for $32 these fit the bill and I'm totally into em.

btw, I measured this new pair and it is indeed truer to tag size, still larger than tagged, but by about 1"....whereas the pair I bought a year ago were 2" larger. These are 30 but the waist is 16.5" across (31)
