Best Writer's Software?

In an effort to re-energize my most recent book project, I am thinking about buying a new programme. At the moment it is all on Pages, but I am thinking about getting Scrivener, Storymill, Ulysses or Storyist. I know we have a few writers here, what do you use?

Writeroom if you like the ultra minimalist--full page black screen with light text.

None of those are going to make you a better writer.

I actually just downloaded the free trial of these two:

The latter seems to offer a similar minimalist format as Writeroom.

I don't want to risk moving anything onto them yet, but will try to play around with them for a few weeks before committing.

Never used any of these but for PC users, this is a free analog for WriteRoom:

Exactly. If you don't want to write in a notebook or use flash cards, then all you need is a basic word processor. All these programs with "writing tools" and garbage are just crutches and scapegoats for people who can't write. "Oh, I'm having trouble writing because I don't have a program that can help me organize my thoughts."

I also use Screenwriter but there are few decent free script writing programs out there for those interested.

Such as: http://celtx.com/
