Considering this thread is now over 10 pages long, I'd say you're wrong.

But just imagine if this shirt were made of genuine selvedge fabric.... The thread would be twice as long and we'd have pictures of people wearing their shirts with rolled hems to expose the selvedge seam like a badge of honor advertising one's finely homed tastes. But instead this shirt with its cheap fabric and buttons makes the wearers look like a bunch of unsophisticated country bumpkins.

there's only 1 of those grey's left, so just buy it and you can always return it for $6 if it doesn't fit

if you wait, it will be gone

that said, the grey Lands End Canvas chambrays are really nice for the money (only the buttons are a let down)

i guess people will hate just for the sake of hating, with no good reason. while i don't own one of these and won't sing song and praise for gap's fabric quality, i've seen ty rockin one somewhat frequently and its not a bad looking shirt by any means. seriously, if you think that looks country and unsophisticated then you either have awful taste or just have a terrible sense of style. keep on hatin' though.

I think the Gap Chambray looks just fine. It's a good price too. Sure it won't hold up forever, but if you are on a budget it makes perfect sense.

I'd go so far as to say that some people hate it because it has "The Gap" on the tag.

thats not why i dont like em, i think they fit pretty bad

the cut on most of the new gap shirts is terrible IMO...the bottom of the shirts are pretty much a str8 line

see how the bottom goes str8 across....im not a fan of that

I have the Gap chambray in a small, I like it. My girlfriend makes fun of me cause she thinks it's a denim shirt, I've tried to tell her it's not. It isn't as fitted as I would like so it's a little puffy when tucked in, but it is definitely one of the more comfortable shirts I own.

I totally agree. I have 4 or 5 chambray shirts from them. I cut the labels Gap off and sew on RRL, Iron Heart, Sugar Cane and Chamala labels. Then I feel and look so much better.

Has anyone tried the new chambray shirt they put up? It it as good as it was last year?

I get that too when I wear mine to work. "Hey, you do know that jeans day is on Fridays, right?"

Obviously. The allure of SF-touted brands is at least partly due to their exclusivity.
