I alternate between a brilliant leather IZOD wallet I've had since I was a kid (which is sadly falling apart), and one of the wallets from Spring's limited edition charity line for WarChild (one of my favourite organizations). It's made out of Tyvex, and it's surprisingly rugged (and it was only $5).
I just bought one of these, but the smaller 4X4 model. These thing is built like a tank w/ high quality leather on the inside. I was pretty shocked at how hefty it was for its size after opening the box.
I like all the RRL wallets except for the coin pouches.
Took out the paper pad, adds plenty of room for cards. Left the pen in there and fits great in my back pocket, still being skinnier than alot of other alternatives. Really nice having a pen with me all the time too.
