As one guy went over and picked it up, i asked if it was a large or a medium, it was indeed a large and that he also owns a medium classic in chestnut. As he was paying the barber was like "hey man great bag" it was almost as if it was scripted.

2 things occurred to me: 1) we really are a special subset of society (eg we all seem to favor Apple products) and 2) i definitely wouldn't get a large thin...that thing is BIG. The owner had a great remark though, he said : 'i walk everywhere, so i don't have a car, so this (pointing to the bag) is my trunk!"

good stuff.

Very Cool! I'm still waiting for my first SBL family encounter.

The other day Dave went to the Apple store to buy the new iPad so we could get pictures of it with the Large Gadget Pouch and was recognized by a few of the employees. They were all part of the Saddleback family and were wanting pictures with him and that sort of thing. Was a new experience for El Presidente. We're pretty low key folks.

Had mine after class the other day. It's a large class of over 75 students, and I saw this girl come in with a chestnut satchel on her back. Caught up with her outside and noted she had the first Saddleback I'd seen on anyone, and she asked if I had one -- I slung my Medium Briefcase in from behind me and she literally screamed. It was hilarious/awesome. We traded Saddleback stories and she told be about how she was still in 'baby the bag' mode. She's a friend of mine, now. Great encounter. ~ H

I do have an iPhone, but don't mess with Apples.

I work for an architectural firm and I custom assembled the components of all the workstations/servers myself. They do 3D modeling/rendering/graphic work and the main software we use is built for the Windows platform (no Mac version). I know you can run Windows on top of Macs, but I'm not sure of the performance hit involved with that. Also, I would imagine the price Apple would charge for something even close to the specs I use would be double what I pay now.

As far as laptops go, I'm not an expert. I use a netbook for quick mobile stuff. Web surfing and email. Heavy duty stuff, I'll sit at a desktop. My home computer is pretty ridiculous. Check out this video of my home computer running a racing game @ 6144x1152 resolution across three monitors. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AiLaQDleCBQ.

We run Windows 7/Windows XP (Skipped Vista).

I've got a Droid because I don't want to switch to AT&T, but as far as laptops go I'm for Apple all the way. I do a lot of programming so for me it's really important to have access to the capabilities of Unix, but without the hassles of dealing with Linux. Not to mention the hardware is beautiful and durable.

My new employer just bought me an i7 processor 15 inch Macbook Pro (with 8 gigs ram ), so I'm considering a medium thin briefcase to lug it around in. Can anybody comment on how it would fit? Is there space for an additional protective sleeve?

I can't say for certain on the thin briefcase as I have the regular in medium. The regular is spec'd at 14" wide, but would hold a 15" fine. The thin is spec'd at 15" so I would think you should be good. I don't think you'd have room for a sleeve though.

Meh all this hype makes me want to get a Saddleback product or something. But I already have 2 wallets. That and I can't decide between the tobacco and the chestnut.

That's awesome! Great conversation starter, huh? Maybe a little Saddleback romance in the future?

Right now our products are unisex, but we're planning to come out with a line of leather totes and purses in the future specifically tailored for women. We'll get some Saddleback products into the hands of a few more ladies and we may just facilitate a few meetings between Saddleback brothers and sisters.

Funny story you may not know. One of our customer service gals is actually getting married to a Saddleback customer she met through while working. Interesting world we live in.

Haven't won a briefcase yet in one of the multitude of giveaways in the past...well here's another chance for you thanks to eMercedesBenz.com. Click on the link, read the cool write-up and comment for a chance to win. Good luck! P.S. the odds of winning are much better with this giveaway as the amount of entrants will be much less than previous giveaways. You never had a better opportunity to get your hands on a Saddleback Briefcase. http://www.emercedesbenz.com/lifesty...tnut-giveaway/

The store and museum is packed full of cool antiques and history. But I was especially excited to see their 30,000+ Indian arrowhead collection. My dad, Dave and I used to go out on the mesa outside Truth or Consequences, NM and hunt for arrowheads. I've picked up a few myself. Here are a few pics of the visit. (If you visit, make sure and ask about their "1 ham, 1 cheese, 1 dollar sandwiches").

And if you're also a Filson fan, they just so happen to be the largest Filson distributor on the planet....

So when are you coming back up my way Jonathan? Fishing is hot on Lake of the Ozarks right now. Oh and I'm stirring the pot a bit in my affiliate thread. LOL. I promise to behave myself and not spill all the beans OK?

Well, I rather doubt if her husband or my girlfriend would approve of the romance. I'm sure a tailored womens' line would go over well. ~ H

The interesting thing will be to track the correlation (if any) between computer choice and leather colour choice. You know ...

black = microsoft
coffee = mac
chestnut = linux
tobacco = I hate computers
Dave's Deals = I borrow my brother's computer
