Crane's and jrs19 - So sorry to hear those screw clasps aren't working out. If you'll shoot us an email, we'll get your shoulder strap back to replace the hardware and cover the shipping both ways, too. http://bit.ly/EmailSBL
ProfessorShak - Yep, we should have some Tow Belts ready to go here in the next couple weeks.
djst - I believe we'll be updating the site as some of the older stock of Dark Coffee Brown runs out. From an IT standpoint, it's likely they'll update in batches as several items run out rather than one by one. All that to say it'd probably be best to check in with the folks in customer service in a couple weeks versus waiting for the site to update.
I see what you mean about the finish on those new Dark Coffee photos. Like your Satchel, my Briefcase is only this shiny on the back after using it for a couple years now. I don't have an answer right now, but I'll check with someone and get back to you.
chev4x4 - I'm bummed to hear that bladeramble's not digging his new wallet. He posted a video on Instagram a couple days after he got it saying that he really liked it. I just reached out to him there on Instagram, so hopefully we can chat with him about it. He brought up a few great points, though. Let me know if I miss any:
We removed a bunch of the pigskin because it was only adding bulk. Dave liked the new pigskin over the old because it's softer and has a more natural feel, though it's still tough enough to make a football out of. The leather's not going to crack along that inner fold as long as you treat the leather every 12 - 18 months (Dave said he just uses butt sweat - haha!). The leather we're using on the new wallet is still full grain, but it's from a different part of the hide. The leather is WAY thick near the back of the hide, and thinner near the belly. Our skin is the same if you think about it -- think the skin on your back and shoulders versus the skin under your arm.
At the end of the day these are natural materials, and we have human beings making our stuff. A very few will fail in one way or another, and if they do we'll replace it. There's more info on our warranty here -- http://www.saddlebackleather.com/Warranty
Flyswatter - So sorry to hear you're not a fan of the new leather. Yep, if you bought a bag from Dave's Deals in the last few weeks, it'll be the older Tobacco Brown.
The Small Bifold hasn't changed at all, though I see what you mean about the angle of the default image. If you take a look at the 360 spin, you'll see what I mean. http://www.saddlebackleather.com/bifoldwallet?sc=8&category=87
Kaufebeen - The images on the site for the Messenger are really accurate. If you order a Messenger and you're not happy with it, we'll be happy to get you a refund.
HDPolarbear - The new Squared Backpack is just as durable as the old one, though by getting rid of the pigskin, we were able to reduce the weight by more than a pound. The part of bag that's going to wear the most will be the leather on the exterior. I miss the Utility Staps as well, and I hope we bring them back someday. In the meantime, bungee wraps seem to be the best option.
Really great questions from everyone. Cheers!
