Hi Saddleback enthusiasts! I'm going to put my classic medium briefcase on the market in a few days, and I wanted to give you a heads up in case someone here would be interested.
Especially if there's someone here from my corner of the world (Finland, northern Europe) who's been thinking of taking the leap (there's also some useful info about shipping costs and local taxes and customs). I think I'm going to be asking about 350 EUR for the briefcase.
The add-to-be below:
Saddleback Classic Briefcase - Medium, Tobacco Brown
Northern Europe (Finland)
I bought this bag two months ago from Daves Deals at a 25 % discount. As a student I couldn’t afford a full priced bag, and was understandably a bit nervous to see what kind of a disfigured monster I had bought. But as I got my hands on this beast, I could not find any defects. I’ve tried to study the bag and look for the flaws that justify the price drop, but to my unprofessional eye it looks just perfect.
I love the look and feel of the briefcase, but for me it has proved to be a bit too big for my everyday use. I’ve used it only a couple of times. For the most part it’s just been sitting in the corner looking awesome.
So the briefcase is practically brand new, with only very minor sings of use (which can be buffed out with ease, if you should wish)
A Saddleback briefcase is meant to be used and abused, it needs to travel the world gathering stories and scars with a worthy companion. As much as I love it, I can’t justify keeping it gathering dust without proper use, and want it to have an owner who puts it to good use.
I’ve included only two photos, but if requested I can provide more. The color is not quite as dark as in the photos, but in my opinion the bag is in fact slightly darker than most of the tobacco brown bags I’ve seen on the web or saddleback leathers site.
The bag cost me a total of 450 EUR (566 USD), breakdown below.
Bag 309 EUR (389 USD)
Shipping 47 EUR (59 USD)
Customs and taxes 94 EUR (118 USD)
(If you want, I can provide the buyer with the order information and the Finnish Customs release documents)
I could have sent the briefcase back to Saddleback and exchanged for a lighter bag, the sachel would propably be the bag I should have bought in the first place. The folks at Saddleback don’t seem to have any problem with customers switching products they don’t feel a 100 % happy with, no matter the reason. Unfortunately for me, the shipping cost of 59 USD one way, totaling a 118 USD is a bit too steep. So you’re in luck, congrats.
Saddleback Leathers products have a 100 year warranty, which tranfers to the new owner.
