I emailed them earlier this week and they offered it to me. I'm glad they have it as an option now.

Where can I find some sort of "insert" or "organizer" to put insise the Saddleback bag?  preferably leather, of course.  Something to place in the rear 4.5 inch compartment to create maybe file folders, or to add more smaller items.    is there such a thing out there ?

I think Saddleback just came out with some organizers, but I'm not sure if they are for your particular bag or not. Check their website or call their customer service line.

Cheers

My new cable bag with added studs closers. I think they loo and function much better than just a cord.

Hi everyone,

I just found this sight after looking on line for Saddleback and happy I did. Presently, I have the iPad 2/3 case that fits my iPad 3 very nice. It's in chestnut. At the same time I bought the medium wallet also in chestnut (pic attached). I'm pleased with the feel, smell and function of each. I work with leather as a hobby and know they will become more supple with age and use.

Right now I'm anxiously awaiting the arrival of the large satchel in DCB. I work as an environmental biologist and require something to keep my GPS, field book, camera, iPad, etc in that will hold up to the elements. As you can tell from my avatar, the outdoors is my office and work space. It will be used in temperatures above 30C and far below -20C, rain, drought, snow and of course sunshine. I know it will be getting banged around considerably so I'll post a pic of the satchel once it arrives and every now and again as it goes through life with me.

Cheers to all

Nice work, I really like how it looks and agree on the functionality. Can you share the process?

My medium classic briefcase arrives this week along with a passport wallet both in chestnut.

I look forward to sharing my thoughts.

I was wondering what the experience is with water repellance out of the box. I have heard people use snoseal, should I apply that early on? I live in the Northeast and we have gotten a lot of rain and though the past winter was mild I am sure that was an aberration.

Thanks

I received my large satchel today! I took a picture of it fresh out of the plastic wrap before I take it to my current job site where it will eventually gain some character. I'm pleased with the colour (DCB). It's a very rich colour. The photo shows it against my chestnut colour loveseat.

I was able to cram all my work stuff in it: iPad in it's chestnut SB case, GPS, Rangefinder, camera, fieldbook, leatherman wave, etc with no problem. My metal clipboard (12.5" long) fits snug and I believe it will fit easily once the satchel is broken in. There's still room for some smaller items. The satchel itself isn't that heavy I find. Must say I love it! BTW, thanks for the key fob Dave.

Here's a note to my fellow Canadians. I chose express USPS shipping. It roughly $12US more than regular so I thought why not. It took 9 days from my online order to delivery which isn't bad. Customs received it 3 days ago however. Speaking of which, there was no duty charge BUT GST was $52.98Can. Ouch!

It was not hard. I just punched holes with my leather punch and screwed the studs in. It was quick and cost abot 4 dollars

For anyone who owns one of the briefcases, do you feel comfortable using it in more formal situations? I like the look of the slim one especially, but with all of the large buckles and rings, I am not sure how well it pairs with a suit.

I carry a the large thin briefcase in chestnut every day, but we're more of a business casual.  I think it looks great with slacks and a sportcoat.  I have carried it when wearing a suit before, but honestly, when most people are carrying a Swiss Army or Targus backpack when wearing a suit, I feel perfectly fine...

I think the bag would be fine with a suit if you go with Carbon Black, Chestnut, or Coffee Brown for the color of the briefcase.  Tobacco may be a little too casual.
