I ordered a belt over the weekend as a Christmas present for someone. I paid for 3 day shipping, only to find out they waited 4 business days before even processing the order. Sort of bummed about that, I wouldn't have purchased it in the first place (and certainly wouldn't have paid for 3 day shipping) had I known it wouldn't be here by Christmas.

When I was considering purchasing the wallets, the very first thing that came to mind was "Can I get it without the logo?" This was 1.5 years ago.

what does the new logo look like?

Also, is customer serivce still giving free replacements for the wallets cracking cards?

Yes they are. Only yesterday I emailed them about 2 wallets I had bought, and they replied in about 1-2 hours asking what my shipping address, and had the replacements sent off.

They were very very friendly, and it was a pleasure.

Back in the day when I placed an order they sent a free keychain with it, I just placed an order for the first time in a loooong time, does anyone know if they still send the keychain?

Good question, but I don't know the answer.

I got a black key fob when I made my order 1.5 years ago; never started using it until a few months ago. It's nice for what it is, keeping in mind the garish logo.

I don't think so... but someone posted a link to a page on their site where you could sign up for something and they would send you one. Let me see if I can find it....

That would be great. There's a used key fob for sale on eBay but I'd rather have a new one.

Any promotions going on now / soon?

I got the new wallet, and thought I'd do some comparisons. Hopefully it'll be useful to someone.

The logo is a whole lot better; and there is less lining in the wallet, making it thinner. Kinda sad to have to get rid of the old one though, despite the fact that it cracked one of my cards. Just the edge though. I might keep it a while more.

My ipad2 case order came in yesterday and they included a key fob. I asked for one in the comments section of my order.

Hi everyone,

I've been researching Saddleback like mad for about a year now and am saving to buy a briefcase in the next few months. I have a couple questions that I hope you could help me with.

My first question is about briefcase size. I know loads of people have asked about it here, and I've looked at hundreds of photos online, but I'm wondering if I could get some personalized advice. I'm waffling between the medium and the large. My concerns are both aesthetic and functional. I'm 5'10", 150 lbs, with a thin, ectomorphic build. While I'm worried the large will just make me look slighter (something I don't need help with), I'm afraid the medium will not have enough space. I've seen pictures of guys of my height where the large looks just fine, others where it looks huge.

I'm a college student so the briefcase will mainly be my daily bring-to-lectures bag. At times I'd like to pack my 13" laptop and power cord, a couple text books, an expandable file holder, planner, camera, iPod, phone, pens, keys, a water bottle, and lunch. Is this overkill for the medium? I'm also never in the same country for more than a few months, so when I fly I'd like the briefcase to become my standard carry-on, filling it with laptop, toiletries, a book, a change of clothes and the like. I'd rather have too much space than too little, but only if the large won't look grotesquely large on me, you know? The deal breaker would be if the medium can hold all my stuff no problem. If someone's thinking "DON'T DO IT! A large will make a skinny 5'10" guy look puny as!!!", or on the flip side if there's no way a medium will provide enough space, please let me know. smile.gif

My second question is about the new logo. I can't tell from the website how long they've been using it, and they don't really provide information about how they're using the "Saddleback®" versus the Blue logo. I've seen some concerning photos across the internet where the "Saddleback®" appears to be placed smack dab on the middle strap at the front side of the briefcase. Please tell me that this is not where SB is placing the logo now! I understand a company's need to advertise, and I would not be adverse to a logo on the inside flap or the back of the briefcase, but the placement of this new logo really really took me aback. It just seemed so tacky and turned me off from what I had perceived as SB's classy, non-consumer attitude. Imagine how much great conversation is killed because people's eyes naturally go first to the logo on the front and no longer need to ask about the bag! I hate to sound like a jerk, but if this is the case now, the briefcase has lost a lot of appeal for me. Does anyone feel the same? I really like the Blue logo as it's more enigmatic at first sight and therefore more personal, but it seems SB is not employing this instead of, but rather in addition to, the "Saddleback®" logo.

If someone could clear this logo confusion up for me that would be great. If "Saddleback®" is indeed emblazoned center stage, I might consider another make. confused.gif Which would be a shame, because this briefcase screams EPIC in every other way possible.

Thanks for any help you have to offer. I really appreciate the support found on this forum.

EDIT - Here are some links to Facebook photos with what seems to be the new logo placement:

These all seem to have been uploaded this month. Pictures from even a few months ago looked the same just sans logo on the front. eh.gif

Banion, judging by your pack list, I'd say go with the Large.  I just bought one of these bags recently, and I'd have to say you are going to need the capacity.

I agonized over my purchase for a long time.  I read every post, searched a ton of forums, and watched every video I could find.  After the research, I was very concerned about spending the $'s on a bag that was going to be impractically big.  That's simply not the case with the Large Classic Briefcase, it is functionally large, but asthetically pleasing if that makes any sense.  My wife is taller than you, and lighter than you, but the large certainly isnt obscenely big on her frame.  She likes the bag.  Hated the price, but likes the bag.  I'm thrilled with the bag, and I absolutly love it.  I would have loved to have had one of these in college.

I posted a video the bag last night to try to convey a sense of size compared to some everyday, and some not-so-everyday items.  Sense of size is what I had the hardest time with during my research.  I couldnt get a feel for how big the bag actually was (externally) until I had it in my hands.  I've never made a video, so it might not be the greatest, but if you want to check it out, here's the link    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b122X1fCL0w

The new logo is squarely placed on the front middle strap, and the Blue logo, which I really like, is placed under the front flap towards the top of the bag.  The Blue logo is a very small logo.  Hope that helps. - WJH

WJH- Great contribution. I ordered the same size and worried all 8 days it took to arrive, but Large will work out fine. Logo is front and center, but is understated and will blend in time. I'm going to enjoy breaking this beauty in. Thanks again
