Has SNL hit rock bottom?

Thread Starter
Just watched a recorded episode from last night. Season premiere, Megan Fox, U2, etc. - it has potential. But no. It absolutely sucked worse than anything I could remember in the past several years. Just nothing funny about the show, it was horrible. I cringed through the entire weekend update. What the hell? Have the writers been replaced by a bunch of monkeys? I know SNL hasn't been that good in the past decade, but this is just ridiculously bad for a show that has such a legacy.

I recorded it, so I haven't watched the whole thing yet, but I do think it's pretty funny that an f-bomb made it to broadcast.

Lorne needs to hang it up.

I never watch SNL, but the Samberg/Timberlake songs have been hilarious, particularly Motherlover and D.I.A.B.

I don't like U2, but thekunk07 is partially full of opinionated crap. Give credit, where credit is due. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of...received_by_U2

No. Kunk is right. U2 blows, and Wikipedia articles about awards that have no relevance to the actual quality of the music do not disprove this fact.

Joshua Tree was great but currently U2 is a joke, and the epitome of bad taste...see relevant threak.

There were several episoides last season that were much worse than the one last night. I even seem to remember a sketch that made me laugh. Still, I don't think Megan Fox was the correct choice for starting the season on the right foot.

For me, War was always their definitive album. They were still raw, young, and had something relevant to say. They jumped the shark with the Zoo TV tour.
