Stupid? or generational gap? - Page 2

I spent a lot of money on one of these things the last time I bought a new cell phone, thinking I could use it with the phone and with the computer talking on Skype.

It worked exactly once with the phone and not at all with the computer. After the initial success with the phone, it never worked again. I finally took it back for a full refund. Of course, I paid sufficiently in time and anguish.

And this in Japan, where the technology is supposed to be highly advanced.

While I do agree that it makes me cringe when seeing someone proudly displaying their BT headset like they are the most technologically hip person in the world, I think they are a great convenience.

In some states, driving w/ cellphones is illegal w/o using a hands-free device. I personally hated using a conventional headset/earpiece as the wire would always tickle my cheek/neck and get tangled up when in a pocket.

One can also argue that people look stupid walking around with their hand up to their ear while using a cellphone. If you talk on a cellphone enough, your arm gets tired as well.

I hate linking up to my BT as it is a PITA! Other than that it is great little piece of technology.

It's amazing how porn seems to be driving the development of new technologies. There's a good defense for porn right there.

Our current technology is all merely peripheral to the ultimate goal of a viable virtual reality. Geeks from time immemorial have been longing for the day when their dream girl will step forth from their own creation a la Pygmalion.

I think "tool" when I see someone with them on in public (such places as a mall or a restaurant). It might be an expercience I had were a man wearing one ask not to be seated near children in a family style restaurant that colors my opinion.

Hello? Hello? Can you hear me now? Haha. I'm bluetoothing with my new Treo. Its pretty sweet. Yeah, I'm totally driving around RIGHT NOW. Later, I'll be talking to you while walking around the supermarket! It will really confuse people because they won't know whats going on! This new headset is so small that people barely notice it! Oh, I gotta go, my "number two" is on "call waiting" if you know what I mean.

Ciao.

I use mine to talk on the phone while I'm on the computer, like now. Otherwise, I keep it off. I don't talk on the phone in the car, and if I'm walking around I like to be holding something up to my ear.
