Me too. Would have had them yesterday, but UPS wanted money for some reason.
Wore them for a couple hours at work this afternoon. Fit great - love them!

he steps in poo
he washes poo off but misses one "morsel" of poo
one day he rushes into his house and steps on his throw rug
3 days later, he's eating licorice and drops a pieces on throw rug...he invokes 5 second rule
2 days later he's sick
2 days after, he's hospitalized...ebola virus
they trace ebola virus to homeless man who frequents the sidewalks he's walks on

I think you should throw them out or sale them at a deep discount. What size do you wear?

I was just admiring the Broad Street while browsing the anniversary sale and walnut/cream would be my choice. Sounds great. Not quite sure of my sizing in AE, otherwise I think I'd pick something up. Guess I do have until the end of the month, and it is actually possible for me to go to an AE store, so...

Similar concern with sizing, but an AE store is an hour away, and I figured with the free shipping to and fro, what the hell?

Indeed. Order a pair or two, try them on, and send the ones that don't fit back. From AE's perspective the return shipping is small price to pay for a happy customer who now knows his size.

How does the 7.5D fit in the toe box? 7E will probably be too big. You can try a 7.5C or an 8C. Or you can keep the 7.5D and put in a tongue pad. You'd be amazed at the difference.

I just bought my first pair of Allen Edmonds shoes, a pair of fine McAllisters. The problem (once they came in the mail) is that when tightened and laced up properly I can scoot my foot forward a good centimeter away from the back of the shoe. Too small? I ordered a 7.5D and I think that a 7D would be too tight on the sides.

You might try a 7E.

I have a little gap at the back if I push my foot forward. But 1cm (just under half an inch), that might be too much. Mine have a gap of not quite 1/4 inch.
Did you try a 7D? It might be fine. If you go to a 7E, the heel might be too wide. If I go from my usual 9.5D to a 9E, the heel is way too wide.

Disgusting question... I stepped in human bodily waste (excrement) today with my leather-soled Strands. Middle of the sidewalk, on the street, didn't see it. Wash or replace the soles?  They're otherwise fresh soles... I obviously washed them already. It bothers me, but I'm cheap... I suspect there may be a legitimate hygiene/disease  concern...?

Please post if you end up returning them to AE. That way I can avoid buying Strand seconds for 1-3 years :sneaky2:. Color?

I just got chills. There are many questions I won't ask.
Since you have already cleaned the soles you may be in need of a ritual to purify both soles and mind. For starters, think of it as a happy little accident.
1) Take a rag with 10% bleach and 90% water. slowly wipe the bleachy rag over soles, allowing the soles to absorb some of the purifying nectar, thusly killing any remaining offensive microbes.
2) Place shoes on their sides facing the sun for 30 minutes to dry, allowing the purifying rays of the sun to further cleanse the soles.
3) Think clean thoughts while doing both procedures.
4) Put on a nice outfit and your newly cleaned Strands and go for a walk. Wherever you see green grass, playfully trod upon it and let natures green glory fragrance the soles.
5) In doing so, be careful of green grass areas where others have playfully trodden before you.
6) Congratulate yourself on sterilizing your shoes and giving yourself a fresh new experience in them.

Peace be unto you and wear your shoes in good health. :)
