The epics in xtra small are a lot different than the regular full woodlore in small, yet the epic fills out the randolph even better than the bigger full tree does.

I like the extra height that the Epics provide. That works very well with loafers.

Damn it! I knew I forgot something. I'll be away from my Randolphs until Sunday - so I'll be sure to take some shots then. The epics in xtra small are a lot different than the regular full woodlore in small, yet the epic fills out the randolph even better than the bigger full tree does.

I wanted to see how the lasted Epic trees looked in person, and how they fit on an AE shoe. Definitely interested in them, post them when you can. :fistbump:

Today: Brown shell Strands (sorry no outdoor pic - was at work before the sun came up!)

and there they are! those really are amazing and I suggest if you havent had a chance to get to an AE store to see them in purpose you try to (or dont, if you wont be able to keep your wallet in your pocket!).

The only reason I'm holding back is because I think I'd like to add a short-wing to my collection instead of the Strand in another color. But man, that color is just great!

You got it -- I was intrigued when I took them out of the box - they really fill out the loafers great!

I picked this pair up at a thrift store last summer for $8. They cleaned up pretty nice, if I say so myself.

+1, those are fantastic! I prefer the brown over the walnut.

Ditto for the shell; I really like my calf Strands in walnut, but those shell Strands in brown are amazing!

Here's my casual Friday: new McTavish with Helmut Lang selvedge...I broke the shoes in for a couple of hours yesterday, and they are "all day comfortable" today! Woodlore Epics are waiting for them at home (in stock at Amazon).

Went to the local AE store yesterday to pick-up my order for the black Ridgeway & brown Kenilworth. Didn't leave the store with any of the shoes that I ordered. The left shoe on the Kenilworth had a bad ripple on the upper. The upper on right shoe on the Ridgeway was off-center in the back where the heel is for about 1/2" to the right. I'm SOL on the Ridgeway. Hopefully the replacement Kenilworth will be a keeper.

I went yesterday to pick up my blue suede Player's shoe. Unfortunately it was too narrow so I'm trying the 11EEE.

My black Ridgeways went back as well; hence the new McTavish...which I think I'm more pleased about anyway!

I love the McTavish. Super comfortable, and they're gorgeous.

Agreed.

What surprised me, however, is that although they are supposedly made on the same last (5-65) I had to size down 1/2 size on the Ridgeway / McTavish compared to my Strands...and they're still slightly longer than the Strands.

Saw these Players in the Nordstrom Rack on Union Sq. Looked pretty good for 2nds - there may have been a very slight difference in color between the two but it was very minor. I would probably have bought them if they were less a bit less than the $199.97 they were asking for...

I noticed this with my Mctavish too. I've noticed other people saying the Mccallister is also a bit looser than other 5-last styles like the Strand and Park Ave. I wonder if it has something to do with the wingtip design?
