Going up one width is about 3/16 of an inch with an increase in girth as well. For best fit, you may want to consider ordering mismatched sizes. It costs more, but it's worth it if you value a good fit.

PSA for you shell cordovan AE junkies:
Through April 1, AE has a shell sale going on:
Seconds are $299
Firsts are $399 (on select in-stock pairs).
I just got my order in for Daltons and Cambridges, so order away!
P.s. If you don't already work with an AE s.a. call my man Brian in Jeffersonville, OH at 740-948-9033 (he gave me the heads up)

How frustrating that I got an email at 7:09PM tonight, specifically on the availability and price of AE shell seconds, and they didn't inform me of this.

I wish I knew about these prices when I bought my shell Macneils for $499 last month. That makes the shell leeds very tempting for me right now.

My shell Leeds is my favorite shoe for days when I don't have outside meetings.

Got my first pair of AE's today

Lombards, i absolutely love them. Im actually looking to order a couple more pairs.
They are a bit tight as i have a wide foot, i went for a D width, i should've went for the larger width up
I was just wondering if its possible to widen them?

Holla at me if you need more shoes

You can always take them to a shoemaker and have them stretched. I would give them a chance first because all shoes stretch a bit especially across the front where you bend them, but if not you can take them to be stretched

E calf seems a bit heavy duty. I had my PAs stretched in the toe, but there isn't much give. Condition, wear, and time will break it in as long as it is the correct size.

How did you find this out? Even Daltons are $399? The website won't work for me and hasn't worked the past couple of days.

edit- the site works in Safari....not in firefox

I heard about it from my sales associate. I think it might be only in the stores, not online.

The Daltons should be $539.

From now until April 1?

That's what I was told, you may want to call tomorrow and verify. He also said sizes and styles were limited... So it may not include Dalton firsts.

But, I was able to order Dalton 2nds for 299 and Cambridge firsts for 399 in my size.

Are all AE shoes full-grain leather? What is the difference between calfskin and premium calfskin? It isn't in their glossary.

Thanks. I have a feeling I need to move to an E, but have a feeling the girth will be too big then. Going back to the store tomorrow. Lady at AE said even though I wore the shoes outside, they would work with me. So Im hoping I can get some that fit...Ill report back.

Try moving up too, like a 9.5B. You can also try the C width in the PA (same last) for comparison. AE usually stocks a larger selection of widths in the PA. If you find a combo of sizes that work, you can special order the Elgin in that size. It's more money, but well worth it if the fit is right.
