It seems like they always have good stock. I'd be surprised if they ran out. One week I bought 3 or 4 pairs of them in medium and went back a few weeks later and they were restocked.

good news then!

anybody get the Amok? Looks pretty nice

It's not bad at the $150 they were selling it for. The shape is much better than other offerings in my opinion. Definitely something to see in person though since the online colors are totally wrong. Also the leather is a little thin and mine had some discoloration on the back, which would be something you can prevent by personally picking a pair in the store. I returned the ones I received though, didn't size them correctly among the other things...

What color pants go with AE's Walnut color?

I wear them with my Navy/Charcoal suits. I dont own a light Gray suit, but there some AE ads with the Strands and that color-looked nice IMO.

Definitely not black...

Just got some soleguards put on my newest Lasalle's-my cobbler said he's had his soleguards for 12 years without changing them...anyone have a similar experience? I guess when my shoes get too beat up, I would just refinish the uppers?

I've enjoyed wearing my Walnut Strands with light tan, brown, khaki colored pants and chinos. It feels like more of a spring/summer shoe to me, but like others have said, they match pretty much whatever your mood feels like wearing that day. Enjoy :D

I wear mine with light grey, navy blue and khaki. I also really like them with a pair of pants that is a brownish taupe. The only color I don't wear them with is charcoal.

We all have our own systems and opinions about this and there really is no wrong answer (aside from doing nothing forever). I use a conditioner like saphir renovateur when shoes are new then follow that up with a wax polish to get them shiny. In lieu of a conditioner, AE's 'Premium Shoe Polish' which is a color matched cream in a tube will also condition the leather. Then follow up with a wax polish if you want them to shine. I can't get shoes to really shine (mirror shine) using AE's wax but I can get a great shine with regular ole Kiwi.
I condition every couple of months (or more depending on use) and reapply wax as needed to keep up the mirror shine. Lastly, I hit them with a brush for a minute or so after each wear and use a damp cloth to remove salt in winter (most important step).
First image is 3 coats of AE's wax, 2nd & 3rd image is 3 more coats of kiwi.

I know everyone says it but god damn those are some beautiful shoes

BTW shoe trees are on sale for $19.99 is this standard for the shoe trees on it is a special? Also, do y'all have shoe trees for all your shoes or do you just rotate?

I have trees for every pair (well actually I am a pair short right now...will fix soon). I got the fixed toe AE ones with my dalton boots and they do fit them perfectly (they claim the fixed toe ones are designed to fit AE lasts...I thought it was questionable since there are different lasts but they do fit perfect). The nordstrom rack ones are ok...not my favorite but I'm not usually willing to spend more so they are what I buy.

They are different than the AE trees so you aren't getting the same thing but all shoe trees are pretty similar. My favorite trees are the ones I got from costco a few years ago...but I have never heard of them selling them since (and they only sold one size...so I can only use them in my smallest shoes)

I buy shoe trees from Nordstrom Rack for $12/pair. I have them for all my shoes as at that price, you might as well. They are a decent quality shoe tree made by Rochester Shoe Tree Co. who makes trees for a number of mfr's like Alden. I think the AE branded are either Woodlore or Rochester, quality is about the same.

Allen Edmonds basic dress belt is on clearance sale for $49 in black and burgundy.  Regularly $98.  So far, all sizes available.

I dont pretend to be an expert, but I have always always heard wear a belt to match your shoes, at least in the same color family-so a light brown may work for dark brown shoes, but I would not do black/burgundy with Walnut, IMO.  Maybe someone else argues otherwise?
Are AE belts really that amazing? I usually buy mine from Century 21 or some place similar for $15-20.  WHile they arent great, I usually beat the hell out of my belts, and so they dont last long.

Exactly, I too beat mine up, so I am wondering if higher-quality like AE means better life with a belt. Not really sure

I wouldn't say that they are amazing but a decent quality at a very good value when on sale. For years I never saw the benefit of spending more than $19.99 on a belt from Marshall's. However, I have a handful of AE belts from Nordstrom rack and they've all held up much better than the $20 cheapies. I found AE basic dress belts in black, dark brown and walnut at Nordstrom Rack over the years. They usually run $40-$50 so the AE sale is pretty good. They won't look beat up for years...that's the benefit of spending a bit more on the belt.

Maybe its the angle, those look really large...
AE really should start using user-submitted pics, they look so much better than the ones on their website. I like these "as is." Such a beautiful shoe
