Walnut Shell Daltons last winter courtesy of a misfire. Those jeans were around when Noah put the Ark into commision.

Those look really nice... if i end up getting a pair, i'm thinking of a darker jean, cuffed twice, with walnut daltons...

Oddly, no, but I think that's specific to boots vs. shoes. The store (NYC, near Grand Central) owner said that with the Daltons, you want to nail the toe/forefoot fit, then don't really worry about the heel -- he was right, though I had the same concerns. I think that you can cinch the heel back into the shoe with boots, whereas you can't with shoes. (hence, the dreaded "bowing")

FWIW, I wasn't going to drop $400 on the Daltons without an expert fitting -- he Brannocked me and had me try a 10D, 9.5D and 9.5E. So I"m pretty sure I'm wearing the correct size.

I'll try some conditioner on the tongue re the squeaking...

I would definitely recommend you make the trip to an AE store to try on the 2-222. I think if you call ahead they can order in some sizes they might not ordinarily carry, should you need. Good luck and hopefully it fits. Also, feel free to snap a pic of the grey, I would love to see what it looks like in the wild.


Incidentally, Amazon now has the Aberdeen in stock. The photos they have are very underwhelming, to say the least. :-(

To be honest, the shoe just looks plain ugly!

That's the casual look that I've been envisioning with walnut Daltons.  I'll try to snag a few pics when they come in with a pair or two of my darker jeans (apc's or nudies)
