LaSalle in chilli was exactly what I was thinking. I have the McAllisters in walnut calf so the Strands would be too similar. Also have to admit that the McAllisters got really boring after I got them... not exactly my type of shoe.

My only reservation about the LaSalle's is that the front is not shaped nicely. I much prefer the cleanness of the similar Delray shoe.

I realized this sale will last until Aug 6th so I'm probably not going to risk getting them online. Will check them out at the store... hopefully they will not run out of my size in the chilli color.

Regarding the bolded, does anyone know if Nordstrom will order them for you at the sale price?

Also, I believe the AE stores will price-match Nordstrom, so it might be worth a try, assuming you have one nearby.

Wait for the shoe you want.  Last Fall, AE put the Delray on sale for $220ish and Amazon frequently puts it on sale for $240ish with no sales tax.  I picked up brown Delrays last Fall for the same reasons you mentioned (much prefer the sleeker toe and more subtle stitching of the Delray).  My only other thought is have you looked at the new Parkway?  I like the pictures I've seen.

AE will price match.  Also, I did not hear of any instances on the forum of Nordstrom being sold out of any of the Anniversary sale shoes last year.  I suspect that Nordstrom just has AE ship a pair in your size to you when Nordstrom is out of it.

I second this. If you end up settling for a shoe due to a sale price, you are probably going to end up buying the pair you really want at some point in the future, and then never up wearing the first pair you bought. This has happened to me several times.

It's in the webpage shot you posted.  There are also pictures in this thread from a week or so ago.

I picked up Delray firsts on Amazon last year for $150.  So be patient and check frequently.

ETA:  For example, they currently have the MacNeil for $249 in a variety of sizes.

There it is. The back looks nice but I don't like the front. Not a fan of the sole either.

I agree.

I'm thinking of pickup Walnut Strands or McTavishes of either colour tomorrow.  I'm leaning toward the McTavishes because my wardrobe is fairly casual right now.  Would y'all recommend the black or natural, and what do you wear them with?

I'm leaning toward the LaSalle's... are they good shoes? I already own black Park Avenues as well as the McAllisters so the Strand is out of the running. I wish they had the PAs in merlot. Does anyone know if they will add shoes to the list or is this final? If you know please let me know because I must pull the trigger today... going away tonight until early next week. Thanks!

I believe they are supposed to be walnut, but the shoe is actually much lighter, closer to the belt or McTavish in the Nordstrom ad.

Only walnut calf is available on their site.

I have the McTavish in tan and it is a great casual / business casual shoe. I wear mine with just about everything but black - they look good with blues, olives, tans, browns, and even some grays. The black McTavish would be good with jeans, but I don't wear many black shoes unless they are with a suit.

If you wear jeans a lot, either color would be good. If you don't wear jeans that often, I would suggest going with the tan.
