Very nice indeed!  I have a pair also except mine are walnut shell.  Although I obviously love the fact that they're shell cordovan, I have to admit that I like the color of yours better.  Yours appear lighter and have more burnishing at the toes.  Enjoy!

On the 5 last, my first two (stand and mcallister) i have in a 10D.  Got them from nordstroms, they fit well, but after a few months i noticed after break in they were borderline loose.  when i went to the AE store in boston i had them properly fit me.  Standing up, i am a 10.5 left foot and a 10 in the right... maybe a hairline over the line on both feet.

Both the cordovan strands and the neumoks I picked up are 9.5D.  From the feel and from seing the way it creases, they fit much better than the 10D.  They run long, most def.

Hey, thanks.  This is only my second wearing, and I really like them so far. I've hit these with AE conditioner and one coat of AE walnut cream: the burnishing is from the factory, and I really love it.

Not sure how you are viewing the forum, but he quoted the post that said in the 333 last.

He was asking FROM WHICH AE LAST he used as his reference point to size down for the 333. For example, a 9.5 in the 8 last to a 9 in the 333.

Correct.  Thank you.

Exactly, I was wondering what the reference point was. Sorry for the confusion.

Another (perhaps silly) fit question:

If one wanted more space in the toe-box (lengthwise) but a virtually identical fit in the rest of the shoe (particularly because going up in length opens too much volume in the back half of the shoe), could something similar be accomplished by going up in length and down in width?  I ask instead of just trying on because, according to my SA, my size in narrow widths basically doesn't exist unless requested, and they'd almost have to order one to be made from the factory just so I could try it on.

Or is this just a sign that the last doesn't work for my foot?

Why not have them order the narrow shoe from the factory? If I am not mistaken, you are not obligated to purchase it, correct? Why not try it on before you dismiss the last?

I'd be exchanging a pair that they've already made for me.  I have a feeling that my SA already secretly wants to strangle me :P

Anyone have an idea what could have caused this? Could polishing help minimize the visibility of the flaw?
I'm usually not one to take issue with the condition of the seconds I receive, but this will probably bother me a bit, since it's on the most visible portion of the shoe.

Received my walnut Jeffersons today and so far so good.

Any recommendations for socks?
