Alden LWB Cigar shell (Barrie Last ) 9D - A little snug but wearable
Alden LWB Tobacco Calf (Barrie Last) - 9D A little snug but wearable
Alden Captoe Boot #8 shell (Grant Last) 9.5D - Perfect fit
Alden Ravello Shell Wingtip Boot (Barrie Last) 9.5D - A little large but they fit when wearing boot socks
Alden Cigar Shell Indy (Trubalance Last) 9D - Perfect Fit
Alden LWB Sand Suede (Leydon last) 9.5D - These are my best fitting Aldens!

Thanks, Pastor, this really helps me.  I'm planning on increasing my AE and Alden collections and seeing how your other AE and Alden's fit is really helpful.  And sorry you're correct, the AE Daltons are on the #1 last.  I didn't know the shell Daltons came in an E width.  I have a D and kind of wish I had an E but maybe they'll break in nicely.  It's interesting that your Alden Leydon last is your best fitting Alden since it's kind of in the middle of Alden's lasts as far as narrowness/wideness goes.  I guess that means the AE #1 last is on the narrower side compared to Alden lasts.

I know this is an AE thread but I have to say that your Alden Ravello wingtip boot generates extreme envy on my part.  I'd have to see how I do with the Barrie last but they are kind of my to-die for boot right now.  Can I ask where you got them?

Hmmm my shell Dalton's are a D and fit more like an E and are a bit large on me. I've been taking up the extra space with heavier socks. My foot is between a C and a D, normally closer to a D. You wouldn't happen to be a size 10 would you?

A recent picture of my Strands while at work.

I've been going back and forth on what boots to get......the wife and I are going to Europe over late December/early January and I want a boot that could take some rain/sleet during the day yet still be able to wear them to dinner that night with a nice sweater or sport coat.  I was thinking possibly the chocolate calf Dalton with the rubber sole.  Any thoughts or recommendations?  Thanks!

Sorry, I'm an 8.  But that's interesting because I had thought my foot was a C/D also and I find my shell Dalton's snug, right back of where my little toe is.  I guess at the widest part of the forefoot.

I just checked and they seem to be pretty centered.....if they aren't, I can't notice!

Just received my Strands from the factory store (seconds), 9 1/2 C , which is what I normally wear in most AE's (sometimes a D). The amount of space I have at the laces is quite a bit more than yours, should the spacing on my shoes be closer, like yours? Do I need a wider shoe? Their snug now, but not uncomfortable.
