Well, Since today seems to be the day for respectfully offering minority viewpoints, I'll say that wearing a smooth calfskin wing tipped Oxford with denim is not university loved. (Was that nice enough? smile.gif )

The exception (for me) would be an Oxford in a rougher leather or unlined suade. An example of the latter would be the snuff suede Nuemok. AE has a jillion examples of the former, ie all the variants of the McAlister or Strand in cow hide or rough calf.
