I found them online at a slightly reduced price and with a 10% promo code. I was able to place the order, but the following day they called and said the colour/size I wanted was out of stock. They contacted manufacturer (AE) and were told it would be about 9 weeks before they would be available. I have purchased 2 pairs of Neumok (olive and red) as well as Rockport Day to Night Wing Tip (blue) in the last 2 weeks. I now have 9 weeks to save up for the Daltons!

Consider the factory-second option. Either the Shoe Bank or any outlet store will check stock company-wide and ship to you if available. I was very happy with the FS walnut Daltons I received,

Do not. These are for suede shoes.

Any idea how the players run in comparison to the park aves (5 last)?

Size up? Size up on width?

Would be appreciated!

Thanks

Players are much tighter.  I am 11C TTS. The 11D Park Ave is huge on my foot.  The 11D Players is too tight.  Haven't had a chance to try a different size.

My experience with 2 last shoes is definitely go up on the width, I'm normally 7D and Player's & Lombard in that size were too tight for comfort

Really? I measure 11 D on the brannock. Ordered 10.5 Player's shoe and got sent 10 D. At first they were tight, after a few wears they are much better, plus the difference in a half size is only around 1/8"....10.5 McAllister's fit me better than 11 D. Ordered 10.5 Bayfields and they are spot on.

The Brannock is not a precision instrument.  And it only measures length and ball width whereas your foot is a three dimensional object.  Hence some variation is expected.  Also individuals have different tolerances for fit (tight vs. loose).  Even so, the difference between the #5 and #2 lasts is significant.

I would consider it if there was an outlet near me. I sometimes check Nordsrom Rack for returns/seconds. I am apprehensive about ordering seconds online since I don't know what the defect is.

These are important point. Additionally, I would say it takes actually wearing the shoes for a period of time to really find out how they work in the long run. I initially had shoes from 5 to 10 different manufacturers and lasts. After finding out what really works, I now stick to 2 to 3 brands/lasts.

I wear a 9.5E on the 5-last, but the Player I have is size 10D. So for me, it was up half a size, but narrower. I also have the Presidio in 9.5E (I believe it is on the same last as the Player's Shoe), and it is too wide in the heel, but too tight in the toe box.

I was thinking of getting something similar to the AldenxLeffot Gatsby Spectator (http://leffot.com/2012/02/29/alden-x-leffot-gatsby-lwb/) in the McNeil with walnut & white calf. Has anyone done something similar or have any comments?

I ordered a pair of brooks strand from the factory second list.
What are the differences between factory second shoes and 2 for 200 shoes?
Thanks.

The 2 for $200 was factory seconds, but only during the "2 for $200" promotional period. Also, I believe it did not include all models.

No differences.

The 2-for-$200 was a special discount price on factory seconds.
