Came very close to picking up the Dalton in chocolate for memorial day sale. I emailed Edward in Freeport and he had a pair in 11D on hold. I stopped by a Boston AE store to ensure the 11D fit but alas...it did not. I couldn't get a good fit in 11 or 11.5. It surprised me as the #1 lasted Leeds fit me like they were made for me in 11D. It's too bad as they were 15% off the factory 2nd price. I really wanted them to work but I learned long ago to simply pass if I'm not 100% sure about fit. I've bought too many shoes when they were on sale that eventually didn't work due to poor fit (ie: walnut westchester). So if anyone's a 11D, there should be a pair of choc Dalton boots up in Freeport. He only had one.

My wife might not be happy (i'll blame you for telling me they are available) - what price are they on sale? Also - do you know what size you are in Bayfields?  The 11D's were very tight in the brown chromexcl, but the 11d in leeds was good for me.

The Rochester shoe trees are the Washburn, right?

J&M also sells those, and at their outlets you can often get them for 2/$35, I think, which is a great deal. Plus J&M has zillions of outlets, compared to AE's two or three. They are great, though I wish the heel was even a little wider still. But I take these over the ones AE sells any day.

FYI to those who like the "Ultra" shoe trees, they are on sale right now through 5/20 at the Cedarville store - 4 for the price of 3.  (http://cedarvillestore.com/p-14-mens-epic-twin-tube-shoe-tree.aspx)

Not sure what the 2nds price was, I just asked about discount. I'd hoped that my leeds size would work but I have odd feet. If your feet are relatively normal, I'm sure you'd take the same size as your leeds. My leeds in 11D are fantastic!

Found it its $255 - Edward told me they are on hold for a customer, I'm assuming this is you?  I'm really not sure if I would need a bigger size than this, but it might be worth a shot.  Were they too small in width, length or volume?

Could use some advice:

I recently purchased some new Walnut Cliftons which I really like, but would like to pick up another pair to rotate with them, as I find myself wearing them quite a lot now that I have them. I find myself wanting to wear brown shades much more often than black, but I don't really have another pair of brown that I'd want to wear anymore (unless you like square toed Kenneth Cole).

With the Memorial Day sale going on, I'm considering the Lasalle, possibly in Chili. These are the same last as the Cliftons, so I imagine the fit is pretty close. Does anyone have some pictures of the Lasalle in Chili that they could post? And in your opinion, could I wear the Chili the same as the Walnut (as far as with grays, browns, navy, etc..).

Thanks for the advice, I've quickly found that this is a great place to go for info.

Nice store but limited sizes, sure they can check company wide inventory and have it shipped but...

:)

thanks for your advice.

i've never been to NC.

For anyone who took part in the 2 for 200 sale and had to send shoes back. Did you have to pay for postage yourself or did they provide a label?

I would say you could wear the chili with just about anything you wear the walnut with except for lighter grays - the chili may be a tad too dark for that. But chili looks great with navy, tans, and medium/dark gray.

I don't have any photos of the Lasalle, but here are some of my chili AE's. The Bradleys (first ones shown) look darker due to the grain leather.

I use all 3, depending on the design and last of the shoe.  I will say that as I buy more shoe trees, I am moving to a greater % of them being epics.  I especially like them for loafers.

I sent a pair back (USPS) and paid postage.  They ship to you for free though so I guess paying to ship back to them is not that big a deal.  Unless you live in Canada, which could get expensive.

I got my 2 for $200's today. I will post pictures later. Strawfut's appear to be firsts, cant find anything wrong with them. I got the brown on brown mesh. The Players I got had one little mark on the suede on the inner portion of the heel, which you wont be able to see at all. I got the white suede version. Based on their appearance I am really happy. I doubt I would have bought either if not for this sale considering how much I will wear them. But both are unique and will definitely fill a role none of my other shoes could have.

I will try them on when I get home later, to make sure there are no bubbles or indentation on the insole, as I have heard was the experience from others.

Really happy and excited. First time I have ordered from AE or the Shoe Bank.

I definitely recommend others trying this out. Great deal on some shoes, next time a sale like this comes around. Worst case scenario, you return the shoes for a refund.

Here are my brown Delrays.  The LaSalle is the Delray with a few modifications requested by Nordstrom.

Thanks for the photo. Are those the Brown Burnished Calf? They look darker than what I would expect from the Chili color.
