LoL. I wish I had bought more! I would have totally purchased at least a second Strand. Oh well.

The MTO thread makes me want to cry. MacNeils, Strands, McAllisters, Promontory Points, Daltons... I would have tried to get them all in walnut shell.

I believe the Walnut Daltons at Pelle Line are still available in 9.5D. It's only $600 with their promo code if anyone wants to go for it. It says brown shell but the color is a darker variation of the walnut.  Below is a picture of me holding them last fall. Not my size unfortunately and I can't afford $600 shoes at the moment either.

What AE are on sale for Nordstrom 2014 Anniversary Sale?

McAllister? Fifth Ave?

If anybody is in need of shoe trees, Jos A Bank has an online sale going on for $8.50 a pair.

Yes, I may add to the collection with a bourbon color (which I love). It's just that walnut was on sale and figured I'd snag two. Had bourbon been on sale also, I would have surely bought one. I was tempted by the LaSalle in chili (also on sale) though, but then I thought maybe it's a bit too much on the red spectrum.

Cheers,

Are those pre-orders that have been sitting around for months/years, or just a product you being in-the-know compared 90% of us?

I think I'd sign a legal document agreeing to not return a walnut shell pair of shoes or boots unless I found a QC issue if it meant I could get some.

This is my first bout into fine men's shoes: If I got Walnut Strands and Merlot Park Avenues, would that hit all the bases (casual, business, whatever color pants, etc)... and also allow me to alternate between the two for business casual?

^ Yes, but you'll need black shoes too.

Would be an easy decision for me had they been and 8.5d or 8e. Hopefully someone picks them up.

I'd get Merlot or Bourbon. Both are great colors that go with most anything. Dark Brown if you want to be the most conservative I guess, but it would be my last choice.

That will cover all bases unless you have black trousers or suits in your wardrobe. If you don't then you don't need black shoes.

Low inventory, so they won't ship international. Bummer
