Name your price, pal!

Maybe it'll be cheaper if you, Saz and I ever get the NYC trip off the ground, haha.

do it

(apologies for the o/t)
There isn't much navy shell I covet. Those are one of the two pairs that I do...

Ah, but unlike the Carmina and the Viberg, these are only a four-week (approximately) MTO away, for a little over $700.  What's holding you back?  (enable, enable)

(end of threadjack . . . I hope)

The only thing holding me back is that bastard Edward Green. I'm obsessed at the moment.

Those are excellent jeans (and boot combination, of course). What brand are they?

I have the FootFitter 2-Way Shoe Stretcher Premium Professional, and definitely recommend it. Note that they run very large. They say that a Men's Medium fits sizes 9-11, but there's absolutely no way I could fit one in my size 9s, let alone my 8.5s. Since you and I have similar sized feet, you'll definitely want the Men's Small. It can still be hard to fit into shoes, but that's necessary to stretch it properly. I actually tried a Women's Small to see if it would work better, but it wasn't long enough to get into the toe box right.

I use shoe stretch spray on both the outside and inside before I put in the stretcher. Then I lengthen as far as I can before widening. Then every few hours or even a whole day later, I'll narrow, lengthen, and widen again. Sometimes I'll put spray on again, sometimes I won't. I generally do this for a couple days, wear again, and decide if they need more work.

Note that the shoe stretch spray is just rubbing alcohol (isopropyl or ethyl/ethanol) and water, at about 50% concentration. When I run out of this bottle, I will just make my own.

Those blue cordovan Rancourts are astonishing, but I'd *personally* want them a few shades closer to midnight-- probably because while I admire astonishing footwear, it stands out a little more than it should in my immediate sartorial context.

Sorry to further de-rail the conversation, but I had heard that Rancourt gets almost all natural shell and then hand dyes them in shop. I much prefer the standard approach that AE follows, of the tannery controlling the color with their 6 month process. Can anyone confirm this? End Rancourt question.

1/2 correct. Rancourt dyes their Espresso, Navy and Green. Color8, black and natural (obviously) come straight from Horween.

Okay, that's what I thought. Thanks Tif!

Hard to say. I'd pro'ly start with a Men's Medium, but be prepared to return for a Men's Small.

Thanks for all the thoughts on Shell, gentlemen. I will certainly take it into consideration.

Meanwhile, here are my new MacNeils on their inaugural wearing. I'm really enjoying the light edge treatment... Is this AE's "natural"?

I don't believe that is natural, it looks more like one of their transparent. Medium-Brown Transparent is my favorite edge dressing they make. I had it put on my MTO strands.

Natural has more of a yellow tan color to it.
